Page 3List of Lithuanian Bird Species = Checklist of the birds of Lithuania = Artenliste der Vögel Litauens / Lithuanian Ornithofaunistic Commission of the Lithuanian Ornithological Society; compiled by Vytautas Jusys. – 2nd updated ed. – [Kaunas]: Lututė, 2012. – 80 p. – Print run [1000] copies. – ISBN 978-9955-37-142-7.
As the publication’s compiler, Vytautas Jusys, chair of the Lithuanian Ornithofaunistic Commission and head of the Ventė Cape Ornithological Station, notes in the introduction, the increased activity and professionalism of ornithofaunistic observations in recent years mean that new bird species are recorded in Lithuania almost every year. Since 2000, forty species have been added to the list of Lithuanian birds (p. 4). This list gives the Lithuanian, Latin, English and German names of 379 species recorded in Lithuania. The Latin names follow the recommendations of the Association of European Records and Rarities Committees, an association of organisations in European countries that monitor rare birds. Species are grouped by genus. The category and status of each species (migratory, wintering, breeding, etc.) are indicated alongside its name. For vagrant and rare bird species, the date of the first sighting, the number of individuals and the number of observations up to 1 October 2012, as well as periods of unusual observations, are specified. Anyone who observes a species marked with the abbreviation LOFK is asked to complete a questionnaire, a link to which is provided. The entire publication is presented in parallel in three languages—Lithuanian, English and German. Tables following the introduction explain the categories and status labels for bird species. Alphabetical indexes of Lithuanian, Latin, English and German species names are included at the end.

This explanatory and translation dictionary brings together the most frequently used terms in contemporary linguodidactics and related fields of language teaching. It includes not only terms currently used in linguodidactics, but also proposed Lithuanian equivalents for terms used in English, German, French and Russian literature for which Lithuanian equivalents are lacking. It provides broader definitions of newer terms relating to areas of applied linguistics that are less developed in Lithuania. Lithuanian terms are marked for stress. English, German, French and Russian equivalents are given alongside the Lithuanian terms where such equivalents are in use. Synonyms of terms are included. The entries are arranged alphabetically. There are no indexes. At the end of the dictionary is a list of documents and institutions important to language teaching and learning, with fairly detailed descriptions. The dictionary has been approved by the State Commission of the Lithuanian Language: “The State Commission of the Lithuanian Language has no objections.”
