Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-08-27
These Terms govern your access to and use of scieee.com and the SciEEE document workspace (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Lingua intellegens, UAB, company code 304701806, VAT identification number LT100013859610, with its registered address at Dariaus Gerbutavičiaus g. 12-194, Vilnius, Lithuania (“we”, “us”, or “SciEEE”).
The Service
SciEEE provides tools to search and read publicly available academic documents, and may convert documents, extract metadata, provide HTML reading views, provide machine-generated translations, and provide subscription-based document-submission capacity. Features, availability, and technical limits may change as the Service develops.
Accounts and acceptable use
You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials confidential, and use the Service lawfully. You must not interfere with the Service, bypass access controls or usage limits, overload infrastructure, scrape abusively, introduce malicious material, or infringe another person’s rights.
User-submitted documents
You remain responsible for every document or URL you submit. You confirm that you have the rights, permissions, and legal basis needed to provide it, including for any selected licence and any public display or processing requested through the Service. Do not submit confidential, personal, unlawful, or infringing material. We may reject, suspend, or remove material where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, or third-party rights.
Subscriptions and payments
Paid document-upload plans are governed by our Billing & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Subscription access is granted only after we receive a valid payment status from our payment processor. We use Stripe for payment processing and subscription management; we do not receive or store full payment-card details.
Public documents and third-party content
Documents may originate from third-party repositories, institutions, publishers, or other public sources. SciEEE does not claim ownership of those documents. If you believe content infringes rights or should be removed, contact us with the relevant URL or document identifier and a clear explanation.
Accuracy and availability
Metadata, extracted text, converted HTML, document formatting, search results, and machine-generated translations can contain errors. They are provided for convenience and should not be treated as authoritative. The Service is provided on an “as available” basis; we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SciEEE is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the Service, third-party content, unavailable content, conversion errors, or translation errors. This does not limit mandatory consumer protections.
Changes and applicable law
We may update these Terms when reasonably necessary for legal, security, technical, or service reasons. Material changes will apply prospectively after publication. Lithuanian law governs these Terms, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
