s uden s' s udy habi s in Compu e S udies in Eki i s a e, Nige ia. This esea ch aimed o examine he impac o online
esou ces used o ins uc ion on s uden s' s udy habi s in Compu e S udies in seconda y schools in Eki i S a e, Nige ia.
To accomplish his objec i e, a null hypo hesis was es ablished o di ec he esea ch. A su ey esea ch design was
adop ed o he s udy. A sample o 85 esponden s was d awn om a seconda y school in Eki i S a e o he s udy. A
ques ionnai e designed by he esea che was he ins umen used o da a collec ion. Da a collec ed we e analyzed
using desc ip i e and in e en ial s a is ics. F equency coun and pe cen ages we e used o answe he ques ion aised,
Pea son’s P oduc Momen Co ela ion o mula was used o es he hypo hesis a 0.05 le el o signi icance. The esul s
showed no signi ican co ela ion be ween online acili ies usage and s udy habi s ( = 0.0611, p = 0.5785). The inding
o he s udy e ealed ha online acili ies has no signi ican in luence on s uden s' s udy habi s in Compu e S udies.
Based on he indings, i was he e o e ecommended ha s uden s should con inue o employ any me hod and acili y
ha is sui able o hei s udy habi s.

Educa ion se es as a mechanism o impa ing speci ic beha io s, egula ions, alues, skills, a i udes, and knowledge

ad ancemen (Usman, Akinpelu, Akindoju, Fasin o, Onowugbeda,and Abanum,2024).The p ima y objec i e o

esponsible socie al membe s and o sus ain and ad ance socie y (Osuchukwu and Nebolise, 2019).The signi icance o

Today, eaching and lea ning ha e aken a new u n as a esul o he in eg a ion o online acili ies in o he school
lea ning en i onmen . Wi h he use o he a ious online acili ies, s uden s can easily in e ac wi h eache s as well as
engage in a ious in e ac i e sessions, using he a ailable acili ies. Educa o s a e encou aged by he go e nmen s o
adop app op ia e eaching me hods, media, s a egies, and echniques in he deli e y o lea ning con en o p epa e
lea ne s o he ou side wo ld. The use o inno a i e eaching me hods, echniques, o app oaches in eaching and
lea ning ac i i ies inside and ou side he class oom has been obse ed o ha e a signi ican impac on s uden s' s udy
habi s (Jazeel (2016).

ma e ials, eal- ime in o ma ion sha ing; inc eased s uden engagemen h ough in e ac i e mul imedia con en , online

gli ches; limi o oppo uni y o immedia e eedback and in e ac ion wi h ins uc o s and pee s; limi o social
in e ac ion and human connec ion, which a e essen ial o emo ional in elligence, empa hy, and social skill; exposu e o
s uden s o cybe secu i y isks, such as da a b eaches, phishing scams, and malwa e a acks. Online acili ies can make
i challenging o assess and e alua e s uden lea ning, as ins uc o s may no be able o obse e s uden s' wo k and
s udy habi s di ec ly.

The use o online acili ies in he ield o educa ion has p o ided s uden s wi h eno mous oppo uni ies o easy access
o a ious esou ces as well as in o ma ion sha ing. The in e ne has become a widely accep ed channel o he exchange
o in o ma ion and ne wo king. As a esul , he dependence o s uden s on he In e ne is inc easing apidly day by day.
S uden s basically use online acili ies o academic as well as non-academic pu poses. Lo s o e- esou ces a e a ailable
on he in e ne , which help s uden s in en iching knowledge and s udy skills. The use o he In e ne enhances he skills
and capabili ies o s uden which help hem in hei s udies and in hei p o essional li e (Emeka and Nyeche, 2016)
S udy habi e e s o an adop ed way and manne a s uden plans his o he p i a e eadings a e class oom lea ning
in o de o a ain mas e y o a subjec . I e e s o he ou ines, p ac ices, and s a egies used by indi iduals o lea n,
e ain, and ecall in o ma ion e ec i ely. Nneji (2002) ci ed in Ogunjobi and Ogungbe (2016) desc ibes s udy habi s as
lea ning endencies ha enable s uden s o wo k p i a ely. S udy habi s could a y among s uden s based on hei le el
and discipline. S uden s ha e been known o exhibi a ious s udy habi s ha wo k wi h each s uden di e en ly, while
mos s udy habi s hough de eloped ea ly in li e a e ca ied o e o adul hood. S uden s wi h good s udy habi s ha e
endencies ha allow hem o wo k ou new ideas each day.
S udy habi s play an impo an ole in de e mining academic success in he lea ning p ocess. The success o ailu es o
e e y s uden depend upon his/he s udy habi s. S udy is an a and as such i equi es p ac ice. Some s uden s s udy
mo e bu hey ail o achie e mo e (Singh and Sha ma, 2022). The ime spen on s udying helps s uden s e ain he
ma e ials lea ned, which will e en ually boos he s uden s' pe o mance ou comes du ing es s o examina ions.
Speci ically, he s udy habi s o s uden s will de e mine how bes hey a e likely o pe o m in a school subjec . S uden s
wi h ine ec i e s udy habi s may end up ecei ing poo g ades a school and his may easily dis ac , us a e and
c ea e beha iou al p oblems in hem which may e en ually make hem dislike school and lead o hem being unable o
de elop o hei ull po en ial (Aina, 2011).
Good s udy habi s help s uden s o achie e academic success, de elop a g ow h mindse , and build con idence in hei
abili ies. Good s udy habi s include ac i e lea ning, o ganiza ion, ime managemen , no e- aking, e iew, and p ac ice.
Poo s udy habi s could lead o academic di icul ies such as examina ion malp ac ices and d opping ou o school.
Fac o s such as lea ning s yle, mo i a ion, and en i onmen can in luence an indi idual's s udy habi s. Singh and Sha ma
(2022) asse ha s udy habi keeps s uden s pe ec in ge ing knowledge and de eloping a i udes owa ds hings
necessa y o achie emen in di e en ields o human endea ou . Good habi will educe he was age o ene gy and
ime.
Rega ding he use o online esou ces, he digi al age has e olu ionized he way we lea n, wi h a ple ho a o digi al
esou ces a ailable a ou inge ips. Howe e , he quali y and adequacy o hese ma e ials could ha e e ec on lea ning
expe iences and ou comes. Schola s belie e ha s uden s who used he lib a y wi h up- o-da e esou ces pe o med a
a highe le el han s uden s in schools wi h minimal o no lib a y esou ces (Ogungbe, 2005). In his age and ime o
echnology, s uden s ind i easy o s udy wi h he use o online acili ies and his is use ul o s uden s who may no ind
he lib a y accessible due o dis ance o lack hose con on ed wi h he p oblem o obsole e ma e ials. Howe e , i

3. Me hodology
A desc ip i e su ey design was used o he s udy. A pu posi e sampling echnique was used o selec he samples. The
ins umen used o da a collec ion o his esea ch wo k was a ques ionnai e. To imp o e he eliabili y and alidi y
o he ques ionnai e, i was p e- es ed on 20 andomly selec ed s uden s in he school. The ques ionnai e was
cons uc ed based on he p incipal esea ch ques ions o he in es iga ion. 100 s uden s o e ing Compu e S udies
we e selec ed o Senio Seconda y School Two (SSS II). 100 copies o he ques ionnai e we e adminis e ed o SSS Two
s uden s. Ou o he 100 copies o he ques ionnai e adminis e ed o he s uden s, eigh y- i e (85) copies we e p ope ly
illed, e u ned and used o da a analysis.

5. Discussion
This s udy in es iga ed he in luence o online acili ies on s uden s’ s udy habi s in Compu e S udies. Based on he
indings o he s udy, i was clea ha s uden s ha e access o online acili ies o eaching and lea ning Compu e
S udies in seconda y schools. 74.1% o he esponden s ag eed o ha e access o online acili ies o eaching Compu e
S udies.
The indings o he s udy u he e ealed ha he e was no signi ican in luence o online acili ies usage o eaching
on s uden s’ s udy habi s in Compu e S udies. This esul sugges ed ha online acili ies o eaching ha e no signi ican

6. Conclusion

acili y usage and s udy habi s. Fu he esea ch is needed o explo e he ac o s ha con ibu e o he lack o
signi icance in his s udy.
