Po ugal is an especially ele an case when analysing he causes and
mul iple consequences o he c isis. The 2008 in e na ional inancial c isis,
which led o he coun y’s bailou in 2011, had a s ong sense o déjà u o
hose who emembe he wo p e ious bailou s ha had o be nego ia ed in
1978 and 1983. In ac , Po ugal’s democ a ic expe ience since 1974 has been
punc ua ed by ecu en economic c isis. I s equency does no de ac om
