Abs ac
The aim o his ex is o desc ibe he p ocedu e and ou comes o he esea ch in he a ea o
managemen o coping s a egies among helping p o essionals. The s udy ocuses on he
p o essionals in esiden ial social ca e acili ies o he elde ly, hei de ini ions o he s ess
connec ed o he epidemic, and an i-epidemic measu es conce ning he Co id-19 disease. We
desc ibed and analysed he coping expe ience h ough quali a i e esea ch wi h one
o ganisa ion in Libe ec. The ou comes om indi idual open in e iews and ocus g oups we e
coded and analysed, and consequen ly o mula ed in o he g ounded heo y. In he u u e, his
heo y will be he base o me hodology. We also plan o de elop an e alua ion s udy. All he
s eps men ioned abo e a e pa s o a p ojec called “C isis Managemen Inno a ion o

ÉTA p og amme, in he a ea o Man and Socie y in he con ex o dynamic social and
echnological changes and challenges o he 21s cen u y. Speci ically, hese a e he
challenges o he 21s cen u y in social se ices, social wo k, social housing and social
inclusion.

The esea ch is based on a p o essional e iew o p e ious achie emen s o bo h esea ch and

ega d o esiden ial social se ices o he elde ly and esiden ial se ices wi h a special
egime.
Fo he pu poses o he p esen ed a icle ( aking in o accoun i s scope), we o e a dense
summa i e p esen a ion o he s a ing poin s in he ield o c isis managemen and coping
s a egies in he helping p o essions.
C isis managemen is a sys ema ic esponse o unexpec ed e en s ha h ea en people,
p ope y and inancial and ope a ional s abili y [7]. In p o essional li e a u e, we can also
encoun e he e m c isis leade ship, which can be conside ed he same as he e m c isis
managemen . An ušák [1] s a es ha i is a

Vodáček [9] adds ha c isis managemen , by i s e y na u e, wo ks wi h si ua ions ha a e

causing psychological s ess in he o ganisa ion and equi ing a lo o a en ion.

a manage who heads c isis managemen . Acco ding o An ušák and Kopecký [2], i is
gene ally ue ha he ideal c isis manage has s ong pe sonali y quali ies and knows how o
main ain peace in he o ganisa ion; hey can sensi i ely implemen changes and ind in e nal
esou ces o su i ing a c i ical pe iod. Lednický [5] adds ha a c isis manage can come
di ec ly om he en i onmen o he o ganisa ion, be in i ed by he o ganisa ion, o he
unc ion o c isis manage can be held by a consul ing company. The p esence o a manage
unbu dened by unc ioning in o mal s uc u es wi hin he o ganisa ion can be an ad an age
o sol ing a c isis, bu on he o he hand, i can be a deple ion in he a ea o possible
esou ces o sol ing a c isis si ua ion, p ecisely because o igno ance o he in e nal

The o he heo e ical s a ing poin is he knowledge o coping s a egies speci ically g asped
by wo ke s in he so-called helping p o essions. A coping eac ion is a na u al and mo e o
less conscious esponse o an indi idual wi h he aim o p e en ing (a e ing), elimina ing
(g adually educing) o mi iga ing he e ec s o s esso - ype demands on he indi idual o
c ea ing, supplemen ing, s eng hening he indi idual's esou ces o e ec i ely manage he
gi en ype o demands. A s esso - ype demand is ideally ans o med in o a challenge- ype
demand by a coping esponse. In o he wo ds, he coping esponse can be simul aneously
di ec ed bo h agains he ac ing s esso and owa ds c ea ing, supplemen ing o mobilising
in e nal esou ces. The goal o he coping esponse is o p e en ha m a he le el o he
o ganism, he indi idual’s psyche, o ha m ela ed o he indi idual's social space [4, 8].

ideal, in he sense o p e en ing ha m. The e o e, coping is some imes di ided a he basic
le el in o e ec i e adap i e and ine ec i e o non-adap i e coping [10]. I is necessa y o

one can encoun e esponses ha a e ou side he usual no ma i e de ini ion.

li e a u e. I is a esponse ha , like escape, is inna e and obse able e en in sub-human
animals and i akes wo o ms. These a e wo ypes o physical and psychological ( he
psychological one is ound in he o m o e bal, non- e bal, and i can also be communica ed
by he ac ions o i s bea e ) agg ession. Physical agg ession is inc easingly pushed ou o li e,

The cu en and s ill changing si ua ion in connec ion wi h he epidemic o he new disease
Co id-19, wi h he in oduc ion o a ious measu es ha ha e an immedia e impac on he
ope a ion o he o ganisa ion and i s daily egime, poin o changes also in g oup dynamics a
he wo kplace, in communica ion models owa ds he en i onmen , in which he esiden ial
se ing is loca ed and o amily membe s who a e in con ac wi h he se ice. To change he
app oach o he c isis, i is necessa y o unde s and he wide con ex o social changes and
hei impac on he daily pe o mance o wo k in he helping p o essions. The a o emen ioned
esea ch wan s o con ibu e o such a change wi h i s ou pu s.
The aim o he esea ch and i s me hods a e gi en by he p ojec applica ion. In he p ojec ,
he goal is o mula ed as ollows: on he basis o quali a i e esea ch and pilo e i ica ion in
coope a ion wi h an ex e nal applica ion gua an o o de elop an inno a i e me hodology o
c isis managemen o esiden ial social se ices o he elde ly. The me hodology is based on
quali a i e da a e lec ing he expe ience o he c isis by i s ac o s (employees, clien s) in a
esiden ial ca e acili y o he elde ly in he Libe ec egion. The esea ch ocused on
e lec ing c isis si ua ions in social se ices o he elde ly in connec ion wi h he managemen
o hese se ices a all le els o managemen ( op, middle, and lowe ). Thema ic esea ch used
he cu en expe ience o ac o s in he p o ision o se ices in 2020 wi h ega d o Co id-19.
The me hodology, which is he inal p ac ical ou pu o he p ojec , is based on eal
expe ience and is eady o eplica ion and wide use in all se ices o he elde ly in he Czech
Republic.
The subjec o he in es iga ion was, in he i s s ep, an expe ien ial de ini ion o c isis, hen
an expe ien ial de ini ion o c isis managemen wi h applica ion equi emen s o he p ac ice
o p o iding esiden ial ca e se ices o senio s in he Senio Ci izens Home F an iško in
Libe ec.
3 Resea ch Me hods
The esea ch en i onmen is he en i onmen o he applica ion gua an o o he p ojec ,
namely he Senio Ci izens Home F an iško in Libe ec h ps://www.ds an isko .cz/, whose
ounde is he S a u o y Ci y o Libe ec om 1 Janua y 2022. The applica ion gua an o
p o ides wo ypes o social se ices: a ca e home o he elde ly and a ca e home wi h a
special egime.
The esea ch sample consis s o wo ke s, clien s and amily membe s o he Senio Ci izens’
Home F an iško . In o al, 33 indi idual in e iews and 3 ocus g oups we e conduc ed.

Based on an ag eemen wi h he applica ion gua an o , hose esponden s who we e also
esponden s o indi idual in e iews we e app oached o Focus g oups. The esponden s
we e bo h men and women; he gende aspec was no p ima ily moni o ed. The same applies
o no acking he leng h o expe ience, educa ion, o exac job i le. Those who we e willing
o de o e ime and ene gy o da a collec ion en e ed he esea ch. The aspec o olun a iness
and willingness is e lec ed in he da a e alua ion.
The esea ch me hodology is based on he concep o quali a i e esea ch, which was de ined
in hei wo k by Anselm S auss and Julie Co bino á (in Czech language, 1999) [6],
especially on he concep o g ounded heo y. The esea ch is mainly based on
me hodological conside a ions o hese wo au ho s published in Czech in 1999 unde he i le
Basics o Quali a i e Resea ch.
The me hodological p ocedu e we ha e chosen o ou ini ial esea ch is as ollows: we will
use quan i a i e da a, in his case he e alua ion o he c isis managemen inno a ion
me hodology o esiden ial se ices o he elde ly o e i y he quali a i e analysis ca ied
ou as an ini ial in es iga ion o he esea ch. S asuss and Co bino á [6] men ion his
possibili y o me hodological ancho ing o esea ch on page 11. The eason - he a gumen o
he esea ch eam - he e is he na u e o he in es iga ed p oblem, whe e hey y o e eal he
essence o he p oblems o he people in ol ed, he essence o people's expe iences wi h he
c isis associa ed wi h he epidemic o he Co id-19 disease in he Czech Republic in 2020 and
2021, and he measu es ha b ough abou he ealisa ion o esiden ial social se ices o he
elde ly. The pu pose is o ind new essen ial in o ma ion abou he phenomenon, abou which
a lo is al eady known, bu he e is a lack o unde s anding o he speci ic o m o he
in es iga ed phenomenon in he p ac ice o esiden ial social se ices o he elde ly. A he
same ime, he applica ion le el in he o m o c isis managemen me hodology is lacking.

Conclusion

he change in he se ice deli e y egime ha esul ed om he epidemic o he new disease.
