Articles of the Treaty Tarmiškumo estetinė vertė: paprastųjų kalbos bendruomenės narių vaizdiniai This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal. The article focuses on the discourse of dialectology aimed at the interpretation of the aesthetic value of dialectality. The aim of the research is to evaluate the aesthetic value of dialectality, the independence of the value, and its connections with other parameters of dialectality through the analysis of the narrative of an ordinary language community member. The perception and evaluation data of eight texts representing different regional and regional expressions, which were collected at 21 regional points, constitute the empirical basis for the consideration of the cities (Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda) in the course of the study of perceptual dialectology, aesthetic value of dialectality. and substantiating the aesthetics of the codes of tradition. After First of all, the article creates a theoretical and methodological approach for the evaluation of the perception data. It presents etic, i.e., the researcher’s, hypotheses conceptualizing analyzing the evaluations of attractiveness of the texts-stimuli, generalizing insights are drawn regarding the dependence of the evaluations of attractiveness on the factor of the standard language in the formation of the images of dialectality, as well as the connections between the evaluations of attractiveness and the perception of the code of linguistic homeland. KEYWORDS: aesthetic value, dialectality, regiolect, emic narrative, perceptual dialectology. This is the first time that the term is used in the English language. The Commission shall be empowered to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 26 to supplement this Regulation by laying down detailed rules for the application of this Regulation. The object of the article is the aesthetic value of the terminology. Thus, the aim of the article is to address the aesthetic dimensions of language. The aim of examining the aesthetic dimensions of terminology presupposes certain tasks: 1) first, the theoretical background of the analysis to be carried out is created […] binių nuostatų paradigmos darbuose plėtojamos kalbų ir variantų percepciją the hypotheses explaining the evaluation are commented on and critically evaluated; 2) the empirical part of the article to be studied […] the analysis of the data of the perception of text stimuli […]. The research material was collected in 2017-2019 as part of the Perceptual Dialectology (PD) project "The dissemination of regional variants and alleged common languages (quasi-standard) at the beginning of the 21st century: perceptual research"1. It should be noted that the material of the PD project is based on very diverse narratives of language and non-language (the PD instrument for research (29 questions and tasks questionnaires) 1 The project was supported by the State Commission of Lithuanian Language.

This happens because the PD methodological paradigm ensures the opening of the perspective of the members of the simple language community. This is the most comprehensive PD discourse, based on the project material developed in a collective monograph (Aliūkaitė, Mikulėnienė, Čepaitienė, Brazaitienė 2020), yet it presents only part of the results of the PD study.

DAIVA ALIŪKAITĖ 266 of the Lithuanian Language Act LXXXV 2014: 257[…]262; Mikulėnienė 2019: 51[…]62). This is the first time in the history of the country that a woman has been elected president. So these texts-stimuli are particularly useful for perception research. The study involved a total of 1,064 students from the same age group (i.e. 14 class gymnasts) from different intermediate base points (see Figure 2). 2 PAV. Other The theoretical and methodological assumptions of the research presented in this article are summarized in the points of the project "The distribution of regional variants and the alleged common language (quasi-standard) at the beginning of the 21st century: a perceptual study". The participants in the PD experiment are ordinary members of the language community; the subject content (see Figure 1) covers the typical elements of the PD study (e.g. mental mapping tasks, text-stimulus perception, etc. see Figure 1); The PDA experiments are organized at different intermediate base points (see Figure 2). In the PD questionnaire, the survey questions and tasks are constructed by including both answer choices, and semantic differential scales, and pencil maps. The inclusion of substantive questions is based on a certain concept (Long 1996: 118-135). In this article, we will discuss the most important task of text-stimulation attractiveness assessment, which is based not only on the fulfillment condition of the typical PD study teorinė argumentacija, pavyzdžiui, tekstų-stimulų panašumo į bendrinę kalbą vertinimo užduotį pirmiausia grindžia Danielio Longo išplėtota kvazistandarto model, i.e. the evaluation of the attractiveness of variants is one of the five components of Dennis R. Straipsniai / Articles 267 Tarmiškumo estetinė vertė: paprastųjų kalbos bendruomenės narių vaizdiniai In this article, we'll look at some of the most common theories and theories that have been used to explain the ethical implications of ethical variables, such as the hypothesis) (Bezooijen 2002), primestų normų hipotezė (angl. the imposed norm hypothesis) (Giles, Bourhis, Lewis, Trudgill 1974) ar socialinių konotacijų hi- "norm-driven hypothesis" (Trudgill, Giles, 1978), and the theoretical implications of ethical variables, such as the ethical implications of ethical variables. 1. The Aesthetic Myth and its DeconStructure of the EMIC and ethical narrative The S.A.J.A. The discourse of aesthetic value of terminology is inseparable from the discourse of aesthetic value of languages. And the latter's critical reflection is also developed in the ethical paradigm. The Italian language is beautiful, the German language is ugly, and so the ethical paradigm verbalizes one of the so-called myths about languages (or variants) and their differences, specifically about the aesthetic advantages or disadvantages of languages, otherwise known as the myth of the hierarchy of languages according to aesthetics. In an article also entitled Scientific Arguments, Howard Giles and Nancy Niedzielski attempt to refute this myth, namely to deconstruct the evaluation of a language or its variants from an internal (emic) varianto vertėmis, kurios ne tik paaiškina estetinę vertę, bet ir sukuria prielaidas perspective by showing the list of aesthetic values of a language or its variant with other languages or its complex analysis of a language or its variants. In this article, we will explore the relationship between the Giles-Nietzsche model of value theory and the Giles-Nietzsche model of social connotation. The latter hypothesis was formulated in the eighth decade of the twentieth century (cf. Giles and Bourhis, Lewis, Trudgill 1974; Giles, Bourhis, Davies 1979; Trudgill, Giles 1978), 11 Originali mito verbalizacija „Italian is Beautiful, German is Ugly“ (Giles, Niedzielski 1998: 85–93). 12 It should be added that the aesthetic difference between the variants as a discriminatory feature is verbalized by another myth of languages, focusing primarily on the qualitative difference between the variants of languages […] English is very poor in the South [JAV south] and in New York City (original myth verbalization […] They Speak Really Bad English Down South and in New York City[…]. This myth is deconstructed by the founder of the modern PD paradigm, D. R. Preston (1998: 139 […] 149). 13 For the inherent value hypothesis, see also Giles, Bourhis and Davies 1979: 589 to 596.

Prigimtinės vertės hipotezė konceptualizuoja ir pagrindžia kalbos (jos variantų the spoken words. In other words, the inherent value hypothesis states that the aesthetic qualification of X language or its variant is determined by the inherent (in this case […] aesthetic) characteristics of X language or variant. If the inherent aesthetic characteristics of language (or variant) X are positive, then the aesthetic qualification of language (or variant) X will also be positive (e.g. if the variant rises to the highest position in the hierarchy of language variants, it will become standard, public, etc.). if the inherent aesthetic characteristics of language X (or variant) are negative, then the aesthetic qualification of language X (or variant) will also be negative. The categories ‘affirmative or ‘negative in this case encompass the entire spectrum of possible aesthetic qualifications. It should be added that one of the first studies to include the evaluative reactions of members of the common language community, covering both the aesthetic and the aesthetic, was carried out in turinį (t. y. kaip maloniai ar nemaloniai tam tikras akcentas skamba), plėto1970 by one of the language aesthetes, H. Giles. The variants of the English language (e.g., Yorkshire, Birmingham, Scottish English, etc.), more precisely, their different values from the point of view of ordinary members of the community (see Giles 1970: 211[…]227). In other words, by collecting data from an emic perspective, the basis for a critical narrative of the aesthetic value of languages (their variants) is formed. H. Gileso and colleagues (Giles, Bourhis, Trudgill, Lewis 1974; Giles, Bourhis, Davies 1979; Trudgill, Giles 1978) performed a critical analysis of the perception of language variants, the evaluation reactions (as well as the aesthetics of variants) of the data obtained by the technique of slanted variant rating scales, revealed the limitations of the inherent value integruojant tiek vadinamąjį „kaukės“ (angl. matched-guise) metodą14, tiek skirhypothesis. In the 1960s, a study of 46 British students evaluating the meanings of different textual stimuli in the same language (the prestige of Athens and Crete) did not reveal any statistical differences between the various parameters of the translations of these dialects (between them and Estonian) due to the differences (Giles, Bourhis, 14). moji kaukė), apie kurį tiriamieji neinformuojami, taip skirtingomis atmainomis realizuoto kaumos atmainos vietą kokioje nors atmainų hierarchijoje, pavyzdžiui, estetinių verčių. Articles of the Treaty Tarmiškumo estetinė vertė: paprastųjų kalbos bendruomenės narių vaizdiniai This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. Such tendencies have encouraged researchers to develop and affirm the so-called primitive norm hypothesis (the imposed norm hypothesis), which conceptualizes and in a sense justifies the added aesthetic value of language (its variants or assigned sounds), otherwise the attractiveness or attractiveness of language "cures", "steps" beyond the boundaries of language (matter). The primitive norm hypothesis explains that one variant (usually the standard) acquires superiority as the most pleasant over the other variants due to cultural norms (Giles, Bourhis, Lewis, Trudgill 1974: to viršenybė (taip pat ir estetinės vertės) prieš kitus variantus randasi ne dėl inherentinių charakteristikų, bet dėl įsisteigusio ir perduoto / perimto žinoji406), otherwise […] social status affects the image of the pleasant variant in the community. It is important to note that even members of the same community may have different perceptions, as some variants may have different social connotations (see Trudgill, Giles, 1978, p. In addition, the hypothesis of social connotations explains the non-dichotomous perception and assessment of standard language variants and non-standard language variants by members of the common language community. For example, regional accents are rated more positively than urban accents (Bezooijen 2002: 14). This is because the realizers of regional accents are associated with a more attractive way of life and environment, hence such social (contextual) information (or complex of social connotations) […]kuria[…] value, etc. 15 Gladis Massini-Cagliari formulates an insight into the native-language polyglots. A researcher who has studied the linguistic situation in Brazil […] has analyzed the relationship between the Portuguese language and 200 other living languages (of which 170 are local languages-dialects) and claims that each native speaker, having learned his own language, learns to distinguish variants of his own language, so each speaker is necessarily a "poliglot" of his native language.
DAIVA ALIŪKAITĖ 270 of the Lithuanian Language Act LXXXV Returning to the myth of the attractiveness vs. ugliness of languages - Italian is beautiful, German is ugly - it can be said that from the perspective of the inherent value hypothesis, it is summarized that Italian is given the qualification of a beautiful language, because the inherent characteristics of this language are grammatical, rhythmic (pause, ringing, rhythmic, ending […] sounds), German […] on the contrary. From the perspective of the hypothesis of social connotations, the beautiful value of the Italian language and the ugly value of the German language create a complex of social connotations. We will not dwell on specific connotations, since the very myth of the beauty and ugliness of languages among members of the distributed language community can be verbalized by mentioning other languages, such as French is beautiful, Chinese is ugly; and so on. As one of the most recent nėti, įvertinant tai, kokį poveikį svetimųjų kalbų mokymuisi turi kalbos garsiworks on the motivation of foreign language learning examines structure and social stereotypes, Susanne M. Reiterer, Vita Kogan, Annemarie Seither-Preisler and Gašper Pesekas (2020: 168) note, many "unpleasant" languages are often perceived as such because of existing or former social and political stigmas. Thus, the main difference between the hypotheses of the speakers is the aesthetic value of the language that the language creates or the aesthetic value of the language that creates what is not the language itself, but what is about and around the language. It is difficult to distinguish, for example, the influence of phonetic features on perception and interpretation from the socio-cultural aura of language (or variants). As V. V. Kogan and S. M. Reiterer (2021: 2) point out, for example, French can appear beautiful because of its high vowel index, i.e. every second sound in French is a voice, whereas aesthetic values can be determined by the sociocultural field of French, and the aroma of the novel, and the aroma of the wine. 3 PAV. Articles and articles 277 Tarmiškumo estetinė vertė: paprastųjų kalbos bendruomenės narių vaizdiniai The rating of the researchers is 4.26 points, and the attractiveness is […] 4.46 points. The reason for the average score was that the subjects rated the beauty of the text with a score of 7 or 6 more often: 12.36% of all subjects rated the text as a very beautiful language text and awarded 7 points, 16.63% - 6 points. The similarity to the common language was rated more critically […] 7 points by 5.52 percent of all respondents, 6 points […] 12.94 percent. The same and the reasons for the F text-stimulation differentials representing the eastern high-altitude regions of the evening. How many other northern western high-altitude regions do the C text-stimulus perception represent? The similarity of this text-stimulus to the common language was rated 7 points by 6.46% of all the young people, 6 points by as much as 21.18%. The results of aesthetic perception are stricter […] as a very beautiful language text, giving 7 points, C text-stimulus was rated by 4.48 percent of young people. On a 6-point semantic differential scale, 12.68 percent of respondents rated themselves as attractive, and 16.59 percent of respondents rated themselves as attractive on a minimum of 1 or 2 points, stating that text-stimulation language is very unpleasant for them. The text-stimulus representing the northern-western high-altitude regions revealed 7.98 percent of the subjects on the semantic differential scale, scoring 1 or 2 points. However, such differences do not change the original assumptions of the dependence on these two parameters (similarity to the common language and attractiveness). In other words, the similarity of text-stimulus to the common language, or more precisely, the image of the common language that young people have, affects or even determines the hierarchy of text-stimuli according to attraction. This insight is further reinforced by the comments made by the researchers: young people often base their evaluation of one or another text-stimulus on arguments of similarity or dissimilarity to the common language. Thus, it is possible to see how the attractiveness of these text-stimuli is conceptualized through a connection with the common language. It is possible to compare the H text-stimulus representing the eastern eastern highlands (interpreted as the most similar to the common language), the D text-stimulus representing the southern highlands region (interpreted as the most attractive) and the B text-stimulus (interpreted as the most attractive or unattractive) with the H text-stimulus representing the most similar or unattractive to the common language, based on the emic narrative, reconstructed from the younger fragments.

Results of text-stimulus perception: the native factor of the language It can be argued that the native language factors affect the perception of the subjects much less than the common language factors. DAIVA ALIŪKAITĖ 282 Acta Linguistica Lithuanica LXXXV attractive and unattractive texts of young Lithuanians: D→A→H→C→G→F→E→B. The northern-western high-altitude region-language markers studied in Šiauliai give the place in the hierarchy of attractiveness of text-stimulating expressions represented by C immediately after the most similar to the common language and the most beautiful text-stimulating D, A and H. While it would not be appropriate to make an absolute for the perception of young people of the language's native action, it is worth noting that when evaluating the similarity of the C text-stimulus to the language's native code, 7.89% of the test subjects rated this text-stimulus almost as similar to the language's native code, with a score of 7 out of 7. A score of 21.05 percent was given to similarity of subjects, with a score of 6 out of 7. By arguing for the similarity of the text-stimulus to the native language code, the young people openly expressed the identity of the native language code with the C text-stimulus represented by the regional sign of the northern western universities, for example: Šl_M05 the student commented on his assessment […] because that is really how it is spoken in our city (7 points); Šl_M11 similarly spoken in my town (5 points); Šl_V01 […] similar because we speak similarly (6 points); Šl_M06 Kad kodo pažinimas, o dar labiau – jo pripažinimas savu kodu turi poveikį tarmiškumo estetiniams įverčiams patvirtina jaunųjų marijampoliečių patrau- […] often the same snail (7 points); I also speak a lot of jargon (6 points). the most and least attractive texts-stimuli follow: D→G→H→A→F→E→C→B. In the beauty hierarchy, the southern western regional indicator representing G text stimulation is moved to the second position (5.54 points), only the southern regional indicator representing D text stimulation is rated more favourably (5.82 points). The similarity of the G-stimulus to the native language code of the text was rated by the younger marijampoliečiai at 6.34 points. In addition, 81% of young people in Marijampolija have text-stimulation localized in Marijampolija. So the data from the pencil mapping task reveals the recognition of the code in the native language code. Thus, the link between the attractiveness and the parent factor of the language is justified. This insight is reinforced by the subjects' own emotional narrative fragments, such as Mrj_M04's G text-stimulation beauty scores 6 points because I like my speech; Mrj_M09 […] scores 7 points because my […] suitcase […] is the most beautiful; Mrj_M16 […] scores 6 points because I like our Swedish accent. The young Marijampolietis Mrj_V11 argues that the 7 point attractiveness rating sounds the best of all, and the similarity to the native 7 point rating of the language is explained by the fact that it is my language. As such, the emic narrative fragment is most clearly linked to the linguistic aesthetic value with the linguistic identity of the subjects. The fact that the native dialect of the members of the common language community is considered to be fairly beautiful has been pointed out and already mentioned by the representative of the traditional dialect, S. Imru (cited in Kontra from 2002: 206). However, it should be noted that, unlike the recognized (and alleged) similarity to the common language, the recognized text-stimulus similarity to the native language code does not necessarily act as a

The results of the perception survey of the points of assignment show a tendency to recognize as the most interchangeable, i.e. not tekstai-stimulai nėra įvertinami kaip patrauklesni. Tas pasakytina, pavyzdžiui, apie žemaičių regiolekto žymenis reprezentuojančių B ir E tekstų-stimulų įverresembling the common language, those points which objectively belong to the area of the lower regions. The first assumption is that if we consider the native language factor to be unconditionally decisive for "language taste", the text-stimuli representing the lower regions will be assessed as more attractive than unattractive. However, that is not the case. For example, only 6.82% of the surveyed low-income groups gave text-stimulation a score of 7 on the B scale, and another 7.27% gave text-stimulation a score of 6. The most uninteresting B text was rated by almost 30 percent of the respondents, who gave it a score of 1 or 2. The perception of text stimuli is slightly more moderate, but still similar (see Figure 7). 7 PAV. Other The sequence of attractiveness assigned to the Norwegian low-lying points is somewhat varied, but one of the low-lying regiolect markers representing the B text-stimulus is always rated as the least attractive, and the second […] E text-stimulus […] is rated at some points as more attractive than the eastern high-lying regiolect markers representing the F text-stimulus or the southern high-lying regiolect markers representing the G text-stimulus (e.g. 8).
DAIVA ALIŪKAITĖ 284 Acta Linguistica Lithuanica LXXXV is the first of its kind in Lithuania. 8 PAV. Other The attractiveness of text stimuli in the evaluation of the sub-regional points of study should be added that the three sub-regional points […] Telšiai, Plungė and Skuodo […] were assessed as the most similar of all by the sub-regional regional labels representing text stimuli in the PD study when assessing the similarity of texts to the language's native code (see paragraph 9). 9 PAV. It should be added that the younger Kretingians (4.28 points) and the younger Mažeikians (4.58 points) also rated E text-stimulus as the most similar to the native language code. The results of the study show that the text stimuli were recognized as the native code of the language, for example: Skd_M20 the study, which rated the similarity of the text stimulus to the native code of the language with 7 points, comments […] very [similar], because it is the kalbinę gimtinę skyrusi 7 balus, argumentuoja – nes ir mes trumpiname galūnes,

Thus, when summarizing the characteristic of the mother tongue for the image of attractiveness, it can be said that the characteristic of the mother tongue is more conditional compared to the characteristic of the common language. Other, of a fat content, by weight After a thorough examination of the aesthetic value of the term, such generalizations and further discourse on the aesthetic assumptions of the codes will be formulated on the basis of Access to the PD: 1) Text-stimuli representing different regional markers, the perception of attractiveness is based on the general observation that the aesthetic value of the terminology is only partially determined by the inherent characteristics of kos tyrimų tradicijos požiūriu, ši įžvalga nėra originali ir nauja, bet ją parethe variant. According to the data of the perception of the esthetics of the codes of the Lithuanian language, it is possible to engage in the general esthetic ethics of the languages (codes), i.e. the researcher, the critical discourse. Thus, evaluating the emic, i.e. the common perception of the attractiveness of texts and stimuli that emerges in the perspective of the member of the ordinary community, it is noted that the hypothesis explaining the perception and evaluation of languages (codes) allows to systematically evaluate the aesthetics of the Lithuanian language, the data of the emic, and to create a sklaidos, taip pat socialinių konotacijų hipotezės, konceptualizuojančios ir sequential narrative discourse. The perception of the members of the simplest language community explains the characteristics of the added aesthetic value of the primitive norms or codes underlying the norms. 2) The data of the text-stimulus perception study carried out in twenty-one regional points and in three large cities (Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda) suggest that there are universal images of the most attractive and unattractive language among members of the common language community. It can be argued that the most beautiful or most beautiful codes at the level of perception are those regions that are more potezės sampratai, aktualinančiai bendrinės kalbos veiksnį. Būtina pažymėsimilar to the common language. Such a summary insight suggests the similarity bendruomenės nario turimas bendrinės kalbos vaizdinys, kuris, nepaisant developed in the theoretical discourse that the common language in this case must be understood as the accuracy or inaccuracy of a simple language (i.e. the appreciation of the quasi-standard), and becomes the basis for measuring and evaluating attractiveness. It should be borne in mind that the emic, i.e. the
DAIVA ALIŪKAITĖ The Acta Linguistica Lithuaniana LXXV is a significant work. In the case under vieno iš jų reikalavimų negalima perkelti kitam, nes taip iš esmės būtų sunaikinama viena iš prasmių, kuri dėl to, kad yra kitokia, netampa mažiau investigation, the image of the language created by a member of the […] simple language community is an important object of interpretation, the deconstruction of which can expand the ethical narrative of interpretation. Thus, a summary insight into the hierarchy of aesthetic codes can be checked by saying that the most beautiful or most beautiful codes at the level of perception are those regions that are recognized and recognized as more similar to the common language. As highlighted by the data of the PD perception survey, as the most beautiful, because it is most similar to the common language (i.e. the visual content), the southern highland region reprezentuojančių D, H ir A tekstų-stimulų raiška; kaip negražiausia, nes labiausiai besiskirianti nuo bendrinės kalbos (t. y. turimo vaizdinio) – įvermarkers and the eastern highland region markers were evaluated. Such results reinforce the common language, more precisely […] common what is kalbos vaizdinio, reikšmę tarmiškumo estetikai, grindžia įžvalgą, kad paprastajam kalbos bendruomenės nariui tarmiškumo estetinę vertę „sukuria“ beyond the language. 3) PD tyrimo rezultatai leidžia įvertinti, kaip kalbinės gimtinės veiksnys lemember of the simple language community, and the etic, i.e. the one who first įžvalgos, kad klausomo varianto pripažinimas savu kodu gali lemti palanexplored, the ways of seeing the world and constructing meaning are unfathomable, my interpretations of aesthetics. However, unlike the recognized (and alleged!) similarity to the common language, the recognized text-stimulus similarity to the native language code does not necessarily act as a condition of attractiveness. Compared to the common language factor, the parent factor of the language is more conditional in forming the image of the attractiveness of the language, which […] works, if the first condition […] is fulfilled, the language represented by the text-stimulus is, of course, at the level of the provisions and perception of the members of the language community, in the conditional continuum […] the common language moves towards the common language. In this context, it is important to note that the analysis of the aesthetic value of language in this article is based solely on the data of a single age group of participants in the study; secondly, the aesthetic narrative is developed through a verbal study, which accumulates only perceptual data, i.e. interpreting the meaning of words, not the aesthetic content of the verbs. It must therefore be acknowledged that the insights developed in this article are to be regarded as a fragment of the aesthetic discourse of the interlude paradigm of the PD, which is necessarily targeted and expanded in various directions, for example, the perception of texts representing interlude.
