esponse o his challenge, China eco ded success in he p oduc ion and expo
o high- ech p oduc s. While he US and Japan eco ded a decline o hei ma ke
sha e in high- ech p oduc s du ing 1994-2007, China signi ican ly inc eased i
eaching 21.2 pe cen in 2007.

ade, bu abou mo e p o ec ion. A he end o he U uguay Round in 1994, he
con ac ing pa ies o he GATT 1947 signed an ag eemen es ablishing he WTO
in which he T ade Rela ed Aspec s o In ellec ual P ope y Righ s (“TRIPS”)
became one o he h ee pilla ag eemen s wi h GATT 1994 and he GATS.

(2) adema ks, (3) geog aphical indica ions, (4) indus ial designs, (5) pa en s,
(6) layou designs ( opog aphies) o in eg a ed ci cui s, and (7) p o ec ion o
undisclosed in o ma ion.

The concep o compliance is equen ly used by poli ical scien is s in he ield o
in e na ional ela ions. Mo e han he concep o compliance, howe e , i should
be named “ he concep o implemen a ion” wi h espec o ope a ionalizing
compliance.
