АBSTRACT
The a icle shows he use o a ope as a ype o physical ac i i y ha is sui able o bo h boys and gi ls.
She also de elops all physical quali ies. The aim o he esea ch is o de e mine he in luence o he
means o jumping ope on he physical i ness o senio pupils. Resea ch me hods: analysis o special
and scien i ic li e a u e on he esea ch opic; pedagogical obse a ion o he lea ning p ocess;
pedagogical expe imen ; pedagogical es ing o he physical quali ies o high school s uden s;
me hods o s a is ical da a p ocessing - o ma hema ical p ocessing o he esea ch esul s. The s udy
in ol ed 70 boys and 75 gi ls in g ades 10-11. The esul s o es ing physical eadiness indices indica e
a signi ican imp o emen in he de elopmen o physical quali ies o s uden s in expe imen al
g oups unde he in luence o jumping ope. This means ha he ope can be ecommended o use in
he p ocess o physical educa ion o high school s uden s. The s udy p oposed o use skipping in
a ious o ms o physical educa ion o senio pupils: a physical educa ion lessons acco ding o he
a iable module "Skipping", in di e en pa s o physical educa ion lessons acco ding o o he
a iable modules ("A hle ics", "Foo ball", Volleyball "), in independen lessons , on olling b eaks,
spo s en e ainmen , compe i ions. And he use o h ee g oups o exe cises wi h a ope acco ding o
he deg ee o di icul y in a ious o ms o aining con ibu es o he inc ease in he physical i ness
o s uden s.

1. INTRODUCTION
One o he asks o physical educa ion is o inc ease he physical ac i i y o child en, adolescen s and you h.
Today, in he e a o global in o ma iza ion, his is di icul o do. Young people lead a seden a y li es yle, spend
mos o he day a compu e s and a ious gadge s. The e o e, i is necessa y o c ea e such condi ions so ha she
mo es mo e and he eby imp o es he heal h and mo o abili y.
Mo o ac i i y is one o he main ac o s o p ope physical de elopmen o child en. This is an in eg al pa o
hei way o li e and beha io . A he same ime, one can obse e a s eady dec ease o s uden s` mo o ac i i y
and, as a esul , hei le el o heal h and physical i ness (K a chuk & T os ianskyi, 2014; Lopa ie e al., 2017;
K u se ych, Sainchuk, & Pidle eichuk, 2018; O a enko, O. e al., 2021).
Acco ding o con empo a y equi emen s o educa ional p ocess, i is ex emely impo an o ind ways o
inc easing s uden s` mo o ac i i y wi h he use o physical cul u e means ha s uden s like (K a chuk, &
T os ianskyi, 2017; Ye molo a, De e ianko, Zakha chuk, Silko a, & Tymchyk, 2017; Nadiahan & Cabaua an,
2021). A lo o s udies p o ed ha s uden s p e e mode n i ness p og ams (Ro aienko, 2012; Se il, Sánchez-
Miguel, Pulido, P áxedes, & Sánchez-Oli a, 2018; Kuśnie z, Rogowska, & Pa lo a, 2020). A pe spec i e s ep
in sol ing his p oblem is he use o i ness echnologies in physical educa ion o high school s uden s, in ol ing
s uden s in ex acu icula ac i i ies ha can be conduc ed in a ious o ganiza ional o ms, and also he use o
new, mode n mo o ac i i ies ha encou age s uden s o exe cise (du Toi , Pienaa , & T u e , 2011; Bakiko,

Sa chuk, Dmi uk, Radchenko, & Nikolae , 2020; Mischenko, e al., 2020; Zhama diy, Shkola, Tolchie a, &

Mode n young gi ls and boys dis inguish i ness classes among o he ypes o physical ac i i y (Mischenko e al.,
2021). One o such ype ha is gaining popula i y is ope skipping, which e e s o ae obic i ness p og ams.
Rope skipping is a combina ion o jumping ope, including long, in combina ion wi h ac oba ic elemen s, dance
exe cises, wi h one o wo skipping opes pe o med indi idually, in pai s o g oups (P a do , & Ko ne a, 2010;
Skipping Lesson Plan o Physical Educa ion, 2017). The a ailabili y o exe cises, hei ela i e simplici y and
emo ionali y allows using ope skipping in a ious o ms o physical educa ion, wi h s uden s o di e en ages
and le els o physical condi ion (Lau son, B own, Dennis, & Cullen, 2008; Boyko, & Ka nyukhina, 2018;
Shkola, Zhama diy, Saienko, Tolchie a, & Poluliashchenko, 2020).
Howe e , despi e he g ea popula i y o ope skipping, he e a e only episodic s udies in he scien i ic li e a u e
(Ha, Lonsdale, & Ng, 2014). Some s udies p o ed he posi i e in luence o ope skipping o he physical i ness
o uni e si y s uden s (P a do , & Ko ne a, 2010; Kasa skaya, & Geychenko, 2013). The e a e p ac ically no
scien i ic app oaches o in oduc ion o ope skipping in physical educa ion o Uk ainian schools.
The a icle will conside he p oblem o he in luence o jumping ope on he physical i ness o s uden s bo h in
domes ic scien i ic wo ks and in o eign ones. An analysis o he le els o physical i ness by means o a ope in
boys and gi ls will also be ca ied ou , i will be de e mined which physical quali ies a e mo e de eloped due o
jumping ope, and he esul s o he expe imen will be compa ed wi h he ini ial ones and he e ec i eness o
he in oduced eaching me hodology will be e ealed.
2. MATERIALS AND METHODS
The aim o he s udy is o de e mine he impac o ope skipping means on he physical p epa edness o high
school s uden s.
The pedagogical expe imen las ed du ing 2018-2021 in H. S. Sko o oda Kha ki Na ional Pedagogical
Uni e si y, Municipal Es ablishmen «Kha ki Humani a ian Pedagogical Academy» o Kha ki Regional
Council, Pol a a Na ional Pedagogical Uni e si y named a e V. G. Ko olenko ook pa .
The s udy in ol ed 70 boys and 75 gi ls o 10 h – 11 h g ades. S uden s we e di ided in o ou expe imen al
(EG) and ou con ol g oups (CG) depending on age and gende . EG1 included 20 boys o 10 h g ades, EG2 –
16 boys o 11 h g ades, EG3 – 18 gi ls o 10 h g ades, EG4 – 19 gi ls o 11 h g ades. CG1 included 19 boys o
10 h g ades, CG2 – 15 boys o 11 h g ades, CG3 – 19 gi ls o 10 h g ades, CG4 – 19 gi ls o 11 h g ades. All
pa icipan s ag eed o pa icipa e in he expe imen .
The esea ch me hods we e as ollows:
- analysis o special and scien i ic li e a u e - o iden i y he ele ance o he p oblem unde s udy and a ious
me hods and echnologies o eaching jumping ope in Uk aine and in he wo ld;
- pedagogical obse a ion - o iden i y he s eng hs and weaknesses o he le el o physical i ness o
s uden s;
- pedagogical expe imen - o compa e he esul s o he expe imen al g oups and he p oposal o a
me hodology o inc ease he le el o physical i ness o s uden s;
- pedagogical es ing - o ob ain eliable in o ma ion abou he le els o physical i ness in di e en pe iods
o he expe imen ;
- me hods o s a is ical da a p ocessing - o ma hema ical p ocessing o he ob ained esea ch esul s. S udy
esul s we e p ocessed using he «Da a Analysis» package o Mic oso Excel 2013 sp eadshee s and
S a is ica 8.0. Desc ip i e s a is ics (mean and s anda d de ia ion) we e de e mined. The eliabili y o he
di e ences in a e age alues was es ima ed by he S uden ’s - es ; he wi hd awal was conside ed o be
eliable a р<0.5 – 0.001.
3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The expe imen las ed o one school yea . Fo s uden s o expe imen al g oups we o e ed a a iable module
«Skiping» ha was implemen ed du ing he hi d qua e o school yea . Addi ionally he e we e o e ed he use
o ope skipping exe cises in he p epa a o y, main o inal pa s o physical educa ion lessons on a iable
modules «T ack and Field», «Foo ball» (1s and 4 h qua e s o school yea ), «Volleyball» (2nd qua e o school
yea ) depending on he asks o lessons. Mo eo e , skipping exe cises we e used in ex acu icula ac i i ies
(independen classes, mo ing b eaks, spo en e ainmen s, compe i ions). S uden s o con ol g oups we e
engaged in a iable modules «T ack and Field», «Foo ball» (1s and 4 h qua e s o school yea ), «Volleyball»
(2nd qua e o school yea ), «Weigh li ing», «Gymnas ics» (3 d qua e o school yea ).
The s uc u e o he lesson on he a iable module «Skipping» has h ee pa s, as any i ness class. Each pa
includes a numbe o componen s o subpa s. The p epa a o y pa las s o 10 minu es and in ol es he
o ganiza ion o s uden s and wo kou . Wo kou includes a a ie y o walking, unning, jumping, gene al
exe cises wi h a skipping ope.
The main pa con inues o 30 minu es and includes h ee componen s: ae obic (15 minu es), s eng h pa (10

minu es) and s e ching (5 minu es). Ae obic componen p o ided o he mas e y o he basic mo emen s o
skipping, combining hem in combina ion, elay aces and mo ing games wi h a skipping ope. S eng h pa
includes exe cises o de eloping he s eng h o di e en muscle g oups. S e ching componen is aimed a
de eloping lexibili y. The inal pa las s o 5 minu es. The e we e used exe cises o elax muscles, b ea hing
exe cises, summa izing he lesson.
To consis en ly mas e he elemen s o skipping, we ha e selec ed h ee g oups o exe cises – o beginne s, o
hose who jump a an a e age le el and o hose who pe o m jumping exe cises a a high le el. The le el o
s uden s' mas e y o jumping exe cises was de e mined by he es « ope jumping in 1 min.»
The i s g oup o exe cises included exe cises ela ed o he acquisi ion o mo o ac ion and b inging i o he
skill, he de elopmen o coo dina ion o hands and legs mo emen s ( o example, jumping wi hou a skipping
ope, lea ning he co ec o a ion o a skipping ope, jumping on wo legs and hei a ie ies, on one leg,
al e na ely, squa , wi h equen li ing o he high, cancan, igu e eigh , wi h mo emen in space, wi h a
o a ion o 90°, pai ed wi h one skipping ope, combina ions o jumps, elay aces, long jump ope, jumping
o e a long o a ing ope, unning h ough a long o a ing skipping ope and o he s).
The second g oup o exe cises was aimed a de eloping endu ance and speed in he p ocess o jumping ope and
mas e ing mo e complex coo dina ion s uc u es o mo o ac ions (in addi ion o he exe cises o he i s g oup
added mo e ypes o jumping on wo legs, one leg, double o a ion, h owing and ca ching one end o skipping
ope, wi h a o a ion o 180°, mo e ypes o jumps h ough a long skipping ope, in pai s, h ees).
The hi d g oup included exe cises ha combine di e en coo dina ion di icul ies o jumping (in addi ion o he
exe cises o he i s wo subg oups, mo e complex echniques a e o e ed by jumping on wo legs, on one leg,
holding objec s be ween he legs, lying down, om di e en s a ing posi ions, wi h double and iple o a ion o
he skipping ope, single and g oup jumps in he double long skipping ope, e c.).
In o de o assess he physical p epa edness o high school s uden s, we selec ed mo o es s, which a e pa o a
sys em o es s and s anda ds o annual assessmen o physical i ness o uk ainian schoolchild en. These es s
cha ac e ize he le el o endu ance, s eng h, speed, agili y and lexibili y. The e a e exe cises: 2000 m un o
boys o 16 yea s old and gi ls o 17 yea s old, 3000 m un o boys o 17 yea s, 1500 m un o gi ls o 16 yea s;
pull-ups o boys, push-ups o gi ls; s anding long jump; 100 m un; 4 × 9 m shu le un; il o wa d om a
si ing posi ion.
Condi ions o conduc ing mo o es s co esponded o gene ally accep ed me hods (Adam 1993; K u se ych e
al., 2019).
The esul s o es ing he physical i ness indica o s es i y a signi ican imp o emen in he de elopmen o

co esponded o he a e age le el. A e he expe imen boys o EG1 pe o med a high le el, and boys o EG2 –
a su icien le el.
The imp o emen o he esul o es ing s eng h, speed and s eng h abili ies, speed was de e mined in boys o
CG1. An inc ease in he esul s o endu ance, s eng h, speed was disco e ed in CG2.
Compa ing he esul s o he physical p epa endness o expe imen al and con ol g oups among hemsel es, we
ound signi ican ly highe esul s in es s o endu ance, speed and s eng h abili ies, speed, agili y, lexibili y (in
EG1) and in « ope jumping in 1 min.» in expe imen al g oups a he end o he expe imen . A he same ime,
he ini ial esul s o boys had no s a is ically signi ican di e ences in es s (p> 0.05).
In gene al, he con ol g oups showed a endency o imp o e he esul s o physical i ness es ing, bu no all
es s e ealed s a is ically signi ican changes. Mo eo e , i should be no ed ha in he expe imen al g oups he
inc ease o esul s is mo e s a is ically signi ican han ha in he con ol g oups. This indica es an adequa e
selec ion o means o he de elopmen o s uden s` physical abili ies.
Signi ican changes in es esul s unde he in luence o classes we e also ound in he physical p epa edness o
gi ls (Table 2). The e is a signi ican inc ease in he esul s o es s o endu ance, s eng h, speed and s eng h
abili ies, speed, agili y, lexibili y in EG3 and EG4.

4. CONCLUSIONS
Despi e nume ous scien i ic s udies, he p oblem o de eloping he physical abili ies o high school s uden s is
opical (Ma chenko, & Boiechko, 2018; I ashchenko, 2020; Osipo , Ra manskaya, Nago i syn, Zhuiko a, &
Ie mako , 2020). I also demands o ind he la es and mos e ec i e means o i ness and me hods o hei use
ha could di e si y he con en o physical educa ion p og ams (Pashke ych, & Ma iyenko, 2016; S ibnyy,
2016). Besides, s uden s` spo s in e es s mus be aken in o accoun . Fo eign sys ems o physical educa ion
ha e a posi i e expe ience o o ganizing classes using ope skipping. This is e lec ed in he esea ch o
scien is s (Ha, & Ng, 2014; Ha, Bu ne , Sum, Medic, & Ng, 2015; Boyko, & Ka nyukhina, 2018).

lessons on o he a iable modules («T ack and Field», «Foo ball», «Volleyball»), in independen classes, on
mo ing b eaks, spo s en e ainmen , compe i ions. Ou da a in inc easing he le el o endu ance, speed,
s eng h, agili y, lexibili y, speed and s eng h abili ies o high school s uden s unde he in luence o ope
skipping con i med he da a o (P a do , & Ko ne a, 2010; Kasa skaya, & Geychenko, 2013; Yang, Lee, Gu,
Zhang, & Zhang, 2020).
