LITHUANIAN LINGUISTICAL QUESTIONS, XXX (1993) PERIFERICAL LITHUANIAN LANGUAGE DICTIONAries Chronicle of the Lithuanian Language Institute 1990 On April 16, 1990, the Lithuanian Language Institute was restored (Decision of the Presidium of the Lithuanian MA No. 115 of 09.04.1990). The director is elected Ph.D. dr. Alexander Wang. Structure. 4 departments: Dictionaries (supervisor — Ph.D. V. Vitkauskas), Grammar (supervisor — Ph.D. Dr. V. Ambrazas), Language Culture and Terminology (supervisor — Ph.D. S. Keinys), Language History and Dialectology (supervisor — Ph.D. K. Morkūnas), 4 groups: Toponymy, Language Contacts, Sociolinguistics, Lithuanian Language Commissions. At the end of 1990, the Institute employed 95 people, of whom 63 were researchers (5 PhDs and 24 PhD candidates). In 1990, the Institute had 9 postgraduate students (2 were accepted — E.Pranckūnienė and D.Murmulaitytė- ), and 1 doctoral student (PhD candidate K.Garšva). The main research areas are: Lithuanian language grammatical structure, lexicology and lexicography, dialects, language history, vocabulary, functioning of the current Lithuanian language, language culture, sociolinguistics. Karaliūnas read the message "Archaisms in the ir Lexicon of the Baltic Dialects". May 21-31 d. N.Čepienė participated in the Baltist conference in Berlin, read a report "Lithuanian Germanisms Study", ir jų worked in libraries. ; May 29-30 d. On June 12, at the Congress of the Lithuanian Catholic Academy of Sciences, in the Lithuanian Language Section, V. Vitkauskas read a presentation entitled "The Great Academic "Dictionary of Lithuanian Language" and the Principles of its Compilation". On June 16-17 in Vitebsk, at the conference "Comparative Russian, Polish and Belarusian Linguistics and Literature" L. Grumadienė read the presentation "Methodological remarks on the study of the Baltic-Slavic border". On August 11-21, A. Vanagas participated in the XVII International Onomastics Congress in Helsinki and presented the paper "Development of the semantics of Lithuanian hydronyms". On September 28, at the scientific conference dedicated to the 105th anniversary of J. Balčikonis- 's birth, L. Grumadienė ("Urban language and language norms") and D. Mikulėnienė ("Tendences in the pronunciation of nouns in the spoken Lithuanian language") presented their papers. On October 15-18 L. Grumadienė participated in the conference "Language Revival" in Jerusalem (Israel) and read: "Phenomena of the decline and revival of Lithuanian language". Researchers from Poland (I. Aleksa, M. Kondratiuk, R. Rozko), Italy (P.U.Dini), Germany (R.Eckert) visited and worked at the Institute. Research cooperation agreements were implemented with the Polish MA Institute of Slavistics (Warsaw) and the German MA Central Institute of Linguistics (Berlin). Date the ir people. On August 14, the correspondent member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. Kazimieras Ulvydas. On December 1, the Institute celebrated its 40th anniversary of the work of the lexicographer, Ph.D. Jonas Paulauskas. 29 December 2009. pp. 2. Aleksandras Vanagas was elected a corresponding member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. RR On November 3, the Institute’s staff participated in honouring the prominent Lithuanian philologists Antanas and Jonas Juškas, whose remains were brought from Kazan to Lithuania and solemnly buried in the Veliuona church shrine. On December 18, a memorial plaque was unveiled in Vilnius, near the house at Kęstučio g. 27, to the long-time employee of the Institute, the famous linguist Jonas Kruopa. His memory was honored by former colleagues, friends and acquaintances, A. Vanagas, A. Sabaliauskas, V. Drotvinas, A. Birmantienė spoke at the ceremony. 223
1991 The Lithuanian Language Institute was granted the status of a state scientific institution (Government of the 1991 m. Republic of Lithuania 21 d. Resolution No. 245). Meetings of scientists. There were three meetings, in which: April 30 d. — Adopted Statute of the Lithuanian Language Institute – the main — document governing the activities of the Institute (the project was prepared by V. Ambrazas, I. Andriukaitienė, S. Keinys, P. Kniūkšta, K. Morkūnas, N. Sližienė); elected Council the — highest decision-making body of the Institute: V. Ambrazas, V. Drotvinas, S. Karaliūnas, P. On September 30-October 1, S. Karaliūnas participated in the national conference "Colloguium Prutenicum" in Warsaw and read the report "Nauja in the etymology of the Prussian language". Linguists of the Institute actively participated in the VI International Baltic Congress held at the University of Vilnius on 2-4 October. Presentations were read by: S. Ambrazas ("Several commonalities in word formation in Baltic and Slavic languages"), E. Grinaveckienė ("The strongest phonetic and accentuation features of the Jūravos Lithuanian schnekt"), L. Grumadienė ("Phonological development of the number of vowels in urban sociolects"), S. Karaliūnas ("Aisčiai and their name"), D. Mikulėnienė ("A special case of Sosiūro and Fortunatovo law?"), A. Vanagas ("River names Neris and Vilija"). During the Congress, A. Vanagas was elected President of the International Baltic Committee. On November 16, K. Eigminas read a presentation "On the grammar of Kristupas Sapūnas" at the conference "T. Lepner and Mažoji Lietuva" held at Klaipėda University, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of T. Lepner's death. On November 25, 2016, in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the birth of the famous French Indo-Europeanist and founder of social linguistics Antoine Meillet (Meye), A. Sabaliauskas gave a lecture entitled "A. Meillet — man and linguist". On November 28-29, 2009, at the conference "Relations of Language and Literature Subjects" in Šiauliai, P. Kniūkšta read the presentation "The Harmony of Poetry and Syntax (in Justas Marcinkevičius' Poetry)". 10-11 December 2015, Minsk, Belarus "Belarusian dialectology and language culture" lectures were read by L. Grumadienė ("Lithuanian and Belarusian border microtoponyms"), D.
