In dem Main part under the Title ,,Baltic Place names im Sub-area of Nadrauens (6east of the Dime) and in the northern parts of Natangen, Barten and Ermland (until Pregel)" researched Grasilda Blaziené 746 Place names. 423 in Place names documented in various sources date back to the period before the Second World War. After the Second World War, 328 Prussian place names in the Kaliningrad region were wise and without any referenzu ce the friiheren replaced by Russian names. That the latter are also referred to in the work (e.g. Zori, Zverevo, Zeleznodorozhny, Zeludevo, Zukovka [S. 233]), is positive zu evaluate. Particularly noteworthy is also the The fact that Grasilda Blaziené in has discovered 329 places not mentioned in the historical sources by J. Gerulis and other researchers. In der Research work is such Place names with a Special characters marked before the lemma. These place names have Grasilda BlaZiené mainly and mostly handwritten Sources, den Foliants East Prussia 133 Recenzijos and those of the Teutonic Order, as well as, what is especially important, the Secrets State Archives,,Prussian Cultural Property* preserved documents and historical sources. In another part of the research, namely in Appendix 2 mentioned above, Grasilda BlaZiené examines Baltic place names in Pomesania. Interesting is the way in which the place names are presented. The place name in the sources is marked in bold and is in the form as it was used earlier. er is still used, e.g. Abschwangen or Zutawka Sztumska, including the location and the dates, all the variants documented in the historical sources are presented: Abschwangen is indicated in a document from 1365 as Appuswangen (which results in a total of 20 variants) (p. 15), Zutawka Sztumska has 33 recorded traps, starting with Pozolowe in 1249 (p. 395--396). The place names are morphologically level examined by in root morphemes, prefixes and suffixes are decomposed. The identification of the root morpheme is carried out by drawing on the etymological equivalents from the Prussian and the closest related to the latter am Languages such as Lithuanian and Latvian (if any) correspondances are available), onSerdem will naturally be the Material of other related languages, namely the Slavic and the Germanic. In most cases, the author of the monograph has succeeded in identifying the word formation and Interpret origin convincingly and zu argumentatively. Dariiber is emphasizu ze that the Verfasserin die Findings of their Vorgiinger conscientiously presented, some of which were corrected by new research data, others largely corrected, many in Fallen the Interpretations of others Researchers also refuted. Die Author refers conscientiously all known Interpretation variants of the Origin of the Place names Appuswangen (S. 15). It explains quite correctly also the Word formation of Pozolowe (1249), and by Reconstruction of *Pa-sulav-/*Pa-suldv-, wo *Paal's prefix functions (cf. lit. pa-miské) and * sulavd or *suléva as root morphem of the in Significance ,,Island“ (S. 396). That this Word of in such Meaning also of PreufSen was used, testifies to the in Saving data from Nesselmann and KurSaitis presented the Lithuanian equivalent sulava,,island, which according to Brodowski Borrowing as gulawa ,,Island* out Goldap im Preu@ischen Lithuania and from the Polish dialects. Der Place name Zinten (Kr. Heiligenbeil) is the in historical Sources as Sinthin, Czinthen (1363) u. A. belegt. Die Author reconstructs fully correctly the Archetype pr. *Zintund refers him to the preuftischen Personal names Almost (S. 233). 134 Recenzijos As an argument for such a view, the Lithuanian verb zifityti Cija, -ijo), "to insult each other, to quarrel, to argue; zegern, zögern“ (Dusetos, Daugéliskis, UZpaliai —LZ... 1037), which can be regarded as the denominative of zifitas, “someone who quarrels, fights*. In the impactful research there has long been the realization that a part of northeastern Lithuania (Zarasai, Dusetos, etc.) and the southwestern area? of the Baltic and the Prussian are connected by a pair of isoglosses.
