Abstract
Vaccine Code Data Sets are released seasonally by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to document the current manufacturer and date of a given set of vaccines. Some vaccines remain relatively unchanged year to year, but some vaccines like influenza and COVID-19, change seasonally and yearly. Code Data Sets refer to an identification number of the vaccines available, based on the date of their release and the manufacturer. This information can be found in the “buisness_rules.pdf” file of this archive, as well as here: https://www.cdc.gov/iis/downloads/business-rules.pdf . The code sets themselves are encapsulated in the Excel files in this archive (where CVX is the time period and MVX is the manufacturer). CPT is the Current Procedural Terminology and is the usage information for the vaccine.

This code set release includes updates for all regular vaccine-related codes. General Note Regarding This Release: Codes with “Last Update” dates from September 12, 2025, and before September 16, 2025, reflect the changes and additions in this release. Vaccine Code Set Updates – Details 1. Fall 2025 COVID-19 New Codes and Crosswalks – Novavax NUVAXOVID FDA approved all new Fall 2025 COVID-19 vaccine codes on 08/27/2025 under Biologics License Application (BLA) licensure and revoked the Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA) previously in place for some of the Fall 2024 COVID-19 vaccines. The NDC codes and crosswalks for the COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer Novavax is now included in the vaccine code set files. At this time, this release completes the codes for the Fall 2025 COVID-19 vaccines approved by the FDA. The NDCs are added to the code sets once the NDCs have been approved by the FDA and are listed and accessible to CDC in both the FDA drug files and NIH ailyMed. Separately, CDC has updated the Fall 2025 COVID-19 Vaccine Codes and Crosswalk table.
