Abstract

This abstract presents a research initiative focusing on the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini into Information Technology (IT) education within Saudi universities. The study aims to explore the pedagogical, technical, and ethical dimensions of AI adoption in IT learning environments. It investigates how AI can enhance teaching efficiency, student engagement, and innovation while addressing challenges related to data privacy, academic integrity, and overdependence on automation. Using a conceptual framework grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the research seeks to provide initial insights that will guide future empirical work and policy development. This abstract represents the preliminary phase of an ongoing study aligned with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals for digital transformation and educational excellence.

Using a mixed-method approach grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the research investigates faculty and student perceptions regarding the effective and ethical use of AI in IT education. The findings will contribute to the development of institutional frameworks for responsible AI integration, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s emphasis on digital transformation and educational excellence.
