Contact ELIXIR-GR as a member of the ELIXIR Training Platform What is ELIXIR-GR? ELIXIR-GR is the Greek Node for ELIXIR, the European infrastructure for life science data. It consists of a community of scientists that maintain, provide and develop services and resources (such as databases, software tools, training, computing power and data storage). In order to meet international and local needs, the ELIXIR-GR provides training for researchers and trainers, promoting community growth, collaborations, and offering skills and knowledge in order to build a sustainable training infrastructure. ELIXIR-GR, through the ELIXIR Training Platform, has access to a network of training resources and services to establish and implement best practices and supports training providers. ELIXIR is a European life sciences infrastructure, bringing together scientists from over 240 research institutes spread over 21 Member countries, three Observer countries and EMBL-EBI. We are a network of scientific and technical experts working together to coordinate, integrate and sustain bioinformatics resources, providing access to high-quality data, tools, standards, compute and training. These open resources enable researchers to access and analyze life science data to accelerate research and its impact on public health, the environment and the economy. The scientific and technical activities in ELIXIR are run by five Platforms (Data, Tools, Compute, Interoperability and Training) and a number of Communities (formerly called 'Use Cases'). Platforms bring together experts to define the strategy and provide services in a particular area e.g. training. The ELIXIR Training Platform supports users and trainers. Through TeSS, it collects information about a diverse range of training and makes it easily accessible to the community. The Platform also supports the Trainers through the ELIXIR-GOLBET Train-the-Trainer program. Those services and also resources related to Learning Paths, FAIR Training, e-learning and Lesson template are available at SPLASH, a digital environment for ELIXIR Training Platform services that is built around the training lifecycle. All training events are monitored through the ELIXIR Training Metric Database (TMD), providing quality and impact indicators. The ELIXIR Training SPLASH ((SPLASH is short for Skills, Professional development, Learning Assessment, Support and Help along the training life cycle) has been designed to guide the trainer in their efforts to plan, design, develop, deliver and evaluate training activties. It is based on the various steps of the training life cycle, although not all the steps will be relevant to everyone.
