NEWSLETTER I S S U E # 3 SEPTEMBER 2025 climexpe.elte.hu As part of ClimEx-PE’s stakeholder engagement, we have launched a survey to better understand perceptions and acceptance of nature-based Managed Aquifer Recharge solutions. The questionnaire targets key actors across sectors and countries involved in water management. Preliminary responses reveal strong openness to NaBa-MAR, even among those previously unfamiliar with the concept. Education & Scientific Outreach ClimEx-PE continues to promote groundwater literacy through targeted educational and scientific dissemination. Early Insights into Awareness and Attitudes Click on the texts to learn more 📘 A new NaBa-MAR educational package was developed for students, offering accessible insights into nature-based aquifer recharge. 🎓 At the ECER 2025 conference, the project team presented research on integrating groundwater topics into environmental education, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in climate adaptation. “We don’t need to increase support for NaBa-MAR — we need to increase knowledge about NaBa-MAR.” In the coming months, ClimEx-PE will continue stakeholder engagement and prepare for outreach activities. The team will also expand its educational toolkit and share survey insights, strengthening the project's impact and visibility. ClimEx-PE is preparing to submit its first major scientific article: Mapping regulatory obstacles to promoting aquifer resilience – A multi-country comparative analysis from Europe The study compares groundwater regulation across four European countries, revealing how fragmented legal systems hinder sustainable aquifer recharge. Through keynote talks, interactive sessions, and a short educational film, ClimEx-PE highlighted the societal relevance of subsurface water in addressing climate challenges.
