OS-APS – Open Source Academic Publishing Suite. A cost-efficient approach to single-source, barrier-less open access publishing
Abstract
OS-APS is an open source software for the production of Diamond Open Access publications which implements complex publication workflows in a single source environment. Input formats can be Word or Libre Office documents, and to a limited extent Tex formats. Output formats are PDF, EPUB, HTML and common XML formats. The documents are edited in an online editor featuring functionalities adapted to publishing requirements. Special features of the software include an accessible online viewer for HTML and JATS/BITS, freely configurable templates for journals and monographs as well as alternate texts for illustrations. AI elements to optimise imports and automation are currently under development.
