Pilots It is an EU project that will facilitate the implementation of the energy transition in a just and fair manner thanks to the co-design of social-energy policies specifically addressing and responding to the real needs of citizens especially those vulnerable. Through participatory approached and a bottom-up approach starting from local actors , ENTRACK will support eight piloting municipalities in co-designing energy plans through capacity-building processes. Increase the knowledge and capacity of local governments to foster a just and fair energy transition. Facilitate an ongoing structuredidalogue among diverse stakeholders in European municipalities and regions to support the co-design of clean and just energy processes. Understand key factors determining perceptions, needs and priorities of citizens and generate policy recommendations for policy decisionmaking in relation to the energy transition and specifically on codesigning socially just and fair energy What we do in ENTRACK Deliver training courses addressing knowledge and capacity gaps of piloting municipalities. Establish a community of practitioners to investigate with stakeholders the key levers and necessary conditions for fostering energy transition. ‘Climate explorers’ can act as observers and activators of change in each rural region. Develop energy modelling tools to assess local energy and climate policies. Undertake the codesigning of social energy policies within the 8 piloting municipalities. ENTRACK will build and pilot methodologies and capacity-building processes in 8 selected rural municipalities in 4 Mediterranean countries: 2 in Greece (Municipality of Topeiros and Municipality of Avdira, Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace), 2 in Italy (Vico Equense and Piano di Sorrento in the Region of Campania), 2 in Portugal (Municipality of Ponte de Sor and Municipality of Gavião, in Alto Alentejo Region) and 2 in Spain (Municipality of Gombrèn and Sant Quirze de Besora.). The piloting municipalities have similar rural contexts but complementary statuses of energy planning .
