It highlights how these technologies enhance teaching efficiency, personalize learning experiences, and promote independent, critical thinking among students. Special attention is given to NotebookLM — an innovative AI-powered research assistant — for its role in improving students’ analytical skills, supporting educators in lesson design, and fostering inclusive learning through features like “Audio Overview.” Key words: artificial intelligence, information technology, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, GitHub, Copilot, NotebookLM, education. INTRODUCTION The widespread integration of artificial intelligence across various sectors has significantly impacted education, leading to a surge in research and the development of sophisticated AI-powered tools [1]. While AI technologies have been a subject of scientific inquiry for at least two decades, the primary focus of large-scale research and investment has historically been on the technological aspects, with applications in social sciences and humanities largely remaining peripheral. However, recent advancements in AI, particularly within the last five years, have enabled a paradigm shift, prompting a more extensive examination of its potential pedagogical applications and effects on instruction [2]. This integration is particularly salient within computer science education, where AI not only provides novel instructional methods but also serves as a core subject of study itself, necessitating adjustments in curriculum design and skill development. The potential of AI to transform educational practices is immense, promising more personalized, engaging, and effective learning experiences for students. For instance, artificial intelligence technologies are adept at understanding natural language, identifying subtle patterns in data, and aiding human decision-making, which INTERNATIONALSCIENCES, EDUCATION AND NEW LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES VOLUME 2 | ISSUE 7 | 2025 https://internationalsciences.org/ | Social Sciences and Humanities | October, 2025 52 collectively contribute to sophisticated educational applications [3]. These advancements enable the creation of intelligent tutoring systems, automated assessment tools, and adaptive learning platforms that cater to individual student needs and preferences. The integration of AI in education is evident across various levels, from administrative tasks to instructional delivery and learning experiences, with a particular focus in STEM fields and computer science. Among these technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) has gained special importance as a powerful tool for improving the quality and efficiency of the learning process. Information technology, being one of the core disciplines of the digital era, is directly connected with AI technologies, both as a subject of study and as a medium for innovation in teaching. The introduction of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, GitHub Copilot, and Khan Academy Max into informatics education has opened new opportunities for teachers and students. These tools can automatically analyze learners’ progress, generate personalized learning materials, and provide real-time feedback, thereby creating an adaptive and interactive learning environment. As a result, AI is not only transforming how informatics is taught but also how students engage with knowledge and technology. Among Google’s most innovative tools, NotebookLM stands out as a groundbreaking AI-powered research and note-taking assistant. Unlike traditional note apps that merely store information, NotebookLM understands and analyzes the user’s materials — offering summaries, insights, and even audio explanations. In educational settings, this capability opens new doors for students, teachers, and researchers to learn more efficiently, think critically, and engage deeply with information. A unique feature of NotebookLM is that its responses are grounded in the user’s sources. This means every answer the AI provides is linked to a specific section of the uploaded document — ensuring accuracy and reliability. Additionally, the “Audio Overview” feature lets the user listen to their materials as an AI-generated conversation between two digital narrators. This innovative approach turns academic content into a podcast-like learning experience. The Role of Artificial Intelligence such as NotebookLM significantly increasing. Artificial intelligence contributes to education in multiple ways. It supports: 1. Enhancing Student Research Skills Students often struggle with analyzing long academic texts, research papers, and reading lists. NotebookLM simplifies this process by generating summaries, outlines, and comparisons between different sources. It acts as a digital mentor, guiding students through complex materials and helping them develop analytical thinking rather than rote memorization. INTERNATIONALSCIENCES, EDUCATION AND NEW LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES VOLUME 2 | ISSUE 7 | 2025 https://internationalsciences.org/ | Social Sciences and Humanities | October, 2025 53 2. Supporting Teachers and Educators For teachers, NotebookLM serves as an intelligent assistant to design lessons, discussion questions, or reading summaries. By quickly synthesizing large volumes of information, educators can save time on preparation and focus more on interaction and critical discussion in class. It also supports creating personalized study materials for students with different learning levels. 3. Promoting Accessibility and Inclusion The “Audio Overview” feature is particularly beneficial for auditory learners and students with visual impairments. It allows them to listen to their materials in a conversational format, improving accessibility and comprehension. This aligns with modern educational principles of inclusive learning environments. 4. Encouraging Critical and Independent Thinking Unlike generic AI chatbots, NotebookLM only uses the content the user uploads. This encourages students to curate reliable sources and critically engage with their own data. It supports source-based reasoning — a fundamental skill in academic writing and research. The integration of artificial intelligence in informatics education represents a major step toward the modernization of teaching and learning. It enhances efficiency, creativity, and personalization in the educational process. REFERENCES: 1. Azzam, Charles. A Review of Artificial Intelligence in K-12 Education.
