Inspiration: The following work is part of the project BioNutriAgro. The main goal is to convert agro and industrial wastes into functional formulations. Conversion of organic waste via acid hydrolysis yields essential compounds that are further used to produce pro-, meta-, and postbiotics. Method: High-performance liquid chromatography coupled with a refractive index detector is applied to analyse the sugar content after the acid hydrolysis of: spent coffee grounds (SCG); dried distilled grains with solubles; grain leftovers; sunflower seed press cake; sunflower seed husks. Material Sugars after Acid Hydrolysis (g/L) Spent Coffee Grounds Mannose (0.1), Galactose (7.23), Arabinose (0.1), Glucose (12.36), Oligosaccharides Dried Distilled Grains with Solubles Glucose (4.46), Xylose (0.82), Arabinose (0.89) Grain Leftovers Glucose (43.17), Xylose (2.67), Arabinose (3.39), Oligosaccharides Material Sugars after Acid Hydrolysis (g/L) Sunflower Seed Press Cake Glucose (33.64), Xylose (9.76), Arabinose (3.89), Oligosaccharides Sunflower Seed Husks Glucose (19.38), Xylose (3.73), Arabinose (1.61)
