Data Steward's Workflow in NFDI-MatWerk

Daei, Amir

Abstract

Data stewards undergo professionalization within a project, primarily tailored to its specific needs . Their expertise, competence, and accumulated knowledge have spurred a bottom-up approach, delineating effective support within the MSE community. This perspective doesn't diminish the significance of other intermediary roles of data stewards; rather, it underscores how this sequential task approach is especially adept in this context. As depicted in the graph, unwavering support commences early in the MSE requirements identification process, collaborating with scientists to shape Infrastructure Use Cases (IUCs). This support persists throughout development and reaches its pinnacle in service delivery.

However, institutions need to manage base infrastructure locally, like mail services, communication tools etc. Depending on the extent of collaboration with new IUCs & PPs, this workflow may be subject to change.
