Abstract
Poster während des 5. Culture Community Plenary in Mainz vom 24.–26. September 2025. Base4NFDI is a joint initiative of all discipline-specific 26 Consortia within the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) to foster and establish reliable NFDI-wide basic services for FAIR research data management.Base4NFDI builds a network for the ongoing identification, support, development, operation, and evaluation of NFDI-wide basic services.This poster represents all of our currently funded basic services in development.

We Are Offering Assistance How Are Basic Services Developed? Integration Phase Initialisation Phase Ramp-Up Phase use case collaborations with consortia service interoperability, sustainable long-term service provision requirement analysis service prototype and user testing shaping of service design and concept service upscaling What Is Our Mission? ●Establish NFDI-wide services for FAIR research data management ●Ensure connection and interoperability with (inter-)national infrastructures and policies Why Was Base4NFDI Created? Since March 2023, NFDI (funded by the DFG) comprises 26 discipline-specific consortia that offer tools, services and advice for working with FAIR data. Base4NFDI, the joint initiative of all consortia, promotes cross-disciplinary basic services by offering financial and personnel support for their stepwise development. A framework for: ●user-driven requirements analysis ●stepwise development of and funding for basic service candidates ●monitoring, evaluation, and training materials ●consensus-building towards NFDI-wide basic service portfolio What Will Base4NFDI Provide? Ramp-Up Phase service upscaling Project Planning & Management ●structure proposals, project management and deliverables ●managing the review process Service Stewardship ●acting as an interface between services & NFDI consortia, identifying stakeholders and gathering user needs ●providing expertise, e.g. with data protection ●bridging the gap to national and international initiatives (e.g. EOSC) Visibility & Knowledge Sharing ●generating web presence, documentation, training materials ●liaising with communities inside and outside NFDI to foster collaboration on new topics https://base4nfdi.de/projects IntegrationInitialisation
