DOI: Abstract: The title of the study is “A Study on the Influence of Jupiter on the Prosperity of Obstetricians and Gynecologists”. The prosperity of obstetricians is collected and the astrological rules given in astrology for working as a gynecologist are compared and examined in the collected prosperity. The purpose of the study is to examine the influence of Jupiter on the 6th house of disease, the 5th house of childbirth, and the 10th house of career. Key Words: Jupiter - 5th House - 5th House Lord - 6th House - 6th House Lord - 10th House - 10th House Lord. Introduction: Obstetrics is the most important stage of a woman's reproductive cycle. It is basically a medical field that covers pregnancy, childbirth, and the well-being of the mother after childbirth. Major Divisions and Components of Obstetrics:  Prenatal care: The main objective is to monitor the health of the mother and fetus from the day of conception until delivery. o Routine check-ups: Monitoring the mother's weight, blood pressure, anemia, and diabetes. o Diagnostic tests: Taking scans (ultrasound) to monitor the growth and health of the fetus. Early detection of pregnancy complications (e.g., fetal defects, placental problems). o Nutrition and education: Providing advice on diet, exercise, and preparation for childbirth during pregnancy.  Delivery: This is the core part of obstetrics. The obstetrician's job is to manage the mother and baby safely during labor. o Labor and delivery: Managing labor pain, supporting the mother, and preventing complications during labor. o Cesarean section: Surgical delivery of the baby when complications arise during labor (e.g., breech presentation, maternal health problems, prolonged labor). o Pain management: Managing labor pain without medication (e.g., breathing, position changes) or with medication (e.g., epidural anesthesia).  Postpartum care: Monitoring the physical and mental health of the mother from the moment the baby is born until about 6 weeks after birth. o Bleeding and infection: Preventing or treating excessive bleeding and infections after childbirth. o Breastfeeding: Providing support and advice for breastfeeding. o Mental health: Diagnosing and treating problems such as postpartum depression. Obstetrician: An obstetrician is a doctor who is specially trained in the management of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum complications. Most are trained in both obstetrics and gynecology. The development of obstetrics in India has gone through several periods. Its main features are as follows: Ancient Period:  Ancient teachers: One of the teachers who worked well on obstetrics and pediatrics in ancient Indian medicine was Kasyappa. His successor, Vagbhatta (6th century AD), explained the basic medical aspects of the intricacies of pregnancy and childbirth.  Traditional medical systems: Traditional systems such as Siddha medicine have emphasized nutritious diet (traditional foods rich in calcium, iron, protein) and lifestyle guidelines for pregnant women to ensure a healthy pregnancy. Colonial Period and Early Modern Development:  Social Barriers: In the 1800s, due to some restrictions in society on male doctors attending to deliveries, the need for female doctors increased.  Beginning of Hospitals: Some special hospitals like Sir. Ramasamy Mudaliar Women's Hospital and Gosha Hospital were started for women and for deliveries in the Gosha method. Vellore Women's Hospital was also started with the aim of providing equal treatment to all.  Dr. Ida Scutter: Although she was not trained to attend to deliveries, Ida Scutter, the daughter of American missionary Dr. John Scutter, initially understood the needs of women and later played a major role in producing female doctors and nurses through the Vellore Christian Medical College. Post-Independence and Modern Development:  Government Schemes: Various government schemes have been started to improve maternal and child welfare and reduce maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate. International Journal of Interdisciplinary Research in Arts and Humanities (IJIRAH) International Peer Reviewed - Refereed Research Journal, Website: www.dvpublication.com Impact Factor: 5.225, ISSN (Online): 2456 - 3145, Volume 10, Issue 2, July - December, 2025 165  Dr. Schemes like Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Financial Assistance Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Mathru Vandana Yojana help in encouraging pregnant mothers to deliver in hospitals and provide financial assistance for nutrition.  Welfare schemes like Amma Childcare Gift Box provide essential items to mothers and children after delivery.  National Child Welfare Scheme helps in detecting and treating birth defects and developmental disabilities in children from birth to 18 years of age. Modern Medical Technologies:  Prenatal care: Monitoring the health of the mother and fetus through regular check-ups, ultrasound scans, blood tests and vaccinations has been made mandatory.  Special Treatments: Specialized centers for managing high-risk pregnancies, use sophisticated techniques such as IVF (intrauterine insemination), (in vitro fertilization) in fertility treatments.  Minimal Access Surgeries: Laparoscopic and robotic surgeries are used in gynecological procedures such as removal of fibroids, hysterectomy.  Pain Relief Delivery: Options such as "painless delivery" using pain relief techniques during labor have become common. Reduction in Maternal Mortality Rate:  The overall maternal mortality rate in India is gradually decreasing. Particularly, southern states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu have made significant progress in this regard and have met the United Nations targets. This is attributed to the improvement in prenatal care, increase in hospital deliveries and access to emergency obstetric care.  The history of obstetrics has a long and gradual development across the world, especially in Tamil medical systems. Here are some of the key aspects from early traditional practices to modern hospital care: Ancient Obstetrics (Traditional and Siddha Medicine):  Obstetrics in Ancient Tamil Literature: The Sangam literature and the Tirumularan Tirumanthiram contain references to conception, stages of embryo development and childbirth.  Embryo Development: The Tirumanthiram (461, 462) is surprisingly similar to today's science in that it gives ideas about the fusion of the mother's and father's cells to form a child, and the reasons for male and female birth.  Childbirth and Maternal Care: The period of pregnancy was called "Chul" and the entire pregnancy was called "Niraichul". The place where the child was born was called "Eenil". After childbirth, it was customary to isolate the mother for a few days ("Puniru Thir Pohudu") for her well-being.  Ayurveda and Siddha: The ancient Indian systems of medicine, Ayurveda and Siddha, have separate sections for obstetrics and gynecology.  Kashyapa is considered the master of gynecology and pediatrics in Ayurveda.  Siddha also deals in detail with women's diseases, conception, childbirth, and traditional foods (lentils, chickpeas) for mothers.  Midwives: In the middle Ages, obstetricians were called midwives. They were performed by novice women. It was common practice for deliveries to take place at home with the assistance of a midwife. The Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period:  Male-dominated maternity hospitals: Until the 1870s, most hospitals were run by male doctors. Female doctors were barred from training.  First women's hospitals: Hospitals that trained women in obstetrics and were run by women began to emerge. The "New Hospital for Women" founded by Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (which began as a dispensary in the 1770s and was renamed the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital in 1918) was a major milestone. Developments in Modern Medicine:  Obstetrics and Gynecology: Today, obstetrics (pregnancy and childbirth) and gynecology (the health of the reproductive organs of women outside of pregnancy) are considered to be a single integrated medical field.  Prenatal care: This was a major turning point in obstetrics. Early detection and treatment of pregnancy complications (blood pressure, diabetes, risk of miscarriage) through regular medical visits, blood and urine tests, and ultrasounds has become an essential practice.  Surgical procedures: Modern surgical procedures such as caesarean section, hysterectomy, and procedures performed using instruments such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy have become much safer.  Public health schemes: In India, government schemes such as the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Assistance Scheme, by providing financial assistance to pregnant women to deliver in government hospitals, have played a major role in reducing maternal and child mortality rates.  Obstetrics has gradually evolved from ancient beliefs and herbal remedies to modern science, instruments, surgical techniques, and comprehensive prenatal care, improving the health and safety of both mother and child.  It can be about the advantages and challenges of being an obstetrician. It refers to the challenges and satisfaction aspects of being a medical profession. Advantages of the Gynecologist Profession Features: The satisfaction and professional benefits of being an obstetrician are important:  High Satisfaction: o Joy of new life: This field is unique in that it offers the rare opportunity to deliver a child and bring joy to the lives of mothers. This is a huge emotional reward. o Long-term relationships: A deep bond is formed between doctors and patients, as they build a close, trusting relationship with patients from the beginning of pregnancy until delivery. It is a safe and well-paying profession. o Career growth: There are a variety of job opportunities, whether in clinics, government hospitals, or large corporate hospitals. Also, there are many opportunities to specialize in sub-specialties such as high-risk pregnancies or fertility treatment. Although being a gynecologist offers immeasurable satisfaction, it is a profession that demands a corresponding amount of dedication, time, and determination. Medicine and Astrology: Once upon a time, the word doctor was used in our country instead of the word doctor. Before the arrival of the English medical system, doctors used to identify herbs, roots, vegetables, etc., mature them, mix them in the right quantities, and turn them into medicine to cure diseases and treat people. At that time, a doctor must also know astrology. Because medicinal plants, roots, herbs, etc. should be matured and prepared for medicine by looking at the day, star, and date. They also calculated the day and date stars on which the patient should take the medicine.  Planets: Each planet is the primary cause of every disease and the indirect cause of some diseases. Among these, good planets keep diseases under control to some extent and make the aspirant function well. Evil planets not only cause diseases but also cause more suffering due to them.  Zodiac Signs: The nature of the zodiac signs is defined according to Kalapurusha philosophy. When the eighth bad house is active, it can be determined how the beneficiary will suffer due to the nature of the disease and how death will occur. Therefore, during these times, the good planets should be associated with the lords of the good bad houses and determine the results. When the twelfth house is active, unnecessary expenses increase and the person suffers. Even in our country, the need and interest in medical education is constantly increasing. If one wants to become a doctor, one must pass the entrance examination for medical education, complete medical education, and then serve as a doctor. Thus, in order to pass the entrance examination, successfully study medical education, join the job, and serve as a obstetrician, the planetary systems should be favorable. According to the astrological rules for working as a gynecologist, one can see in detail what kind of planetary arrangement is in one's favor. As a result of the study, two rules in astrology are the main reasons for one to work as an obstetrician. They are Rule No. 1: Jupiter is related to the 5th, 6th, and 10th houses. Rule No. 2: The lords of the 5th, 6th, and 10th houses are related to each other. According to the above rules, Jupiter plays a karakam for a person to work as an obstetrician, so it is known through this study that Jupiter plays an important role in the pros of obstetricians.
