Born Rigidity Reduces to an Empty Rest Frame Max Karson November 15, 2025 Premise. A continuous body undergoes Born-rigid motion if, in the instantaneous inertial rest frame of each of its constituent points, the Euclidean distances to all neighboring points remain constant: ∀x,∀t:d dt IF(x,t) x−x′ = 0. Observation 1: No force propagation. The Born rigidity condition prohibits any relative displacement between neighboring points at all instants. A “rigid body” so defined does not transmit forces, as a disturbance applied at one point cannot propagate. Observation 2: No measurable proper acceleration. Every accelerometer measures internal force propagation. Consequently, no observer embedded in a Born-rigid system can register a non-zero proper acceleration. Observation 3: Purely semantic label. Because (i) forces cannot propagate and (ii) acceleration cannot be detected, “Born-rigid motion” admits no empirical content. Conclusion: Collapse to a rest frame. With no observable forces and no detectable acceleration, a Born-rigid assembly is operationally equivalent to an empty rest frame. Any material linkage or measurement would violate rigidity. Thus, any ”object” exhibiting Born-rigid behavior while undergoing physical processes (e.g. spinning [2]) must reduce to an empty lattice of world-lines.
