La plataforma MINKA com a eina educativa
Abstract
This poster presents the potential of MINKA citizen science observatory as an educational tool. It is presented in the II Congrés de Ciència Ciutadana, on 17th and 18th November 2025 in Barcelona. This work is under the umbrella of ProBleu, an EU and UKRI-funded project aimed at promoting Blue Schools across Europe and associated countries, with a special focus on promoting citizen science on them. ProBleu supports the expansion of the Network of European Blue Schools (NEBS), fostering awareness and responsibility for ocean and freshwater ecosystems among students and educators. The poster highlights key aspects of MINKA, including: the potential as a tool for monitoring biodiversity (but also environmental parameters such water temperature, or marine litter) with students the contribution to the SDGs the flexibility and adaptability of MINKA to different educational contexts that teachers can create their own projects, for free, in MINKA, with our support as experts the different roles that students can take in MINKA: observers, identifiers, data analysers, community mobilisers... But also, the poster shows the methodology we are using to work with teachers to support them to use the platform: teachers' training on citizen science and MINKA use co-design sessions to adapt the platform to educational needs creation of educational materials ProBleu aligns closely with the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030, emphasizing the importance of collaborative, multilingual, and grassroots approaches to building ocean literacy.
