World Journal of Biology Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 2025, 24(02), 081-087 Publication history: Received on 22 September 2025; revised on 28 October 2025; accepted on 31 October 2025 Article DOI: https://doi.org/10.30574/wjbphs.2025.24.2.0948 Abstract Nutraceuticals are a combination of the terms "pharmaceutical" and "nutrition." Generally speaking, nutraceuticals are foods or food ingredients that have a major impact on and maintain regular physiological processes that are necessary to keep people healthy. The current demographic and health trends are the primary drivers of the global need for nutraceuticals. The foods that fall under the category of "nutraceuticals" can include antioxidants, polyunsaturated fatty acids, probiotics, helpful fiber, and different types of herbal or natural foods. These Nutraceuticals help in combating some of the major health problems of the century similar as rotundity, cardiovascular conditions, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, cholesterol etc. In whole, ‘Nutraceuticals’ has led to the new period of drug and health, in which the food assiduity has come an exploration acquainted sector. Nutraceuticals are food or part of food that provides medical or health benefits including the forestallment and/ or treatment of a complaint. nutraceutical’s has advantage over the drug because they avoid side effect, have naturally salutary supplement, etc. nutraceutical’s; on the base of their natural source, chemical grouping, orders into three crucial termsnutrients, herbals, salutary supplements, salutary fiber, etc. The most fleetly growing parts of the assiduity were salutary supplements (19.5 percent per time) and natural/ herbal products (11.6 percent per time). Global nutraceuticals’ request is estimated as USD 117 billion. FDA regulated salutary supplements as foods to ensure that they were safe. In 2006, the Indian government passed Food Safety and Standard Act to regulate the nutraceuticals’ assiduity. Herbal nutraceuticals’ is used as an important instrument in maintaining health and to act against nutritionally convinced acute and habitual conditions, thereby promoting optimal health, life, and quality of life. Keywords: Nutraceuticals’; Fiber; Prebiotics; Probiotics; Polyunsaturated; Dietary; Supplements; Longevity 1. Introduction Neutraceuticals is the mongrel of „ Nutrition ‟ and „ Pharmaceutical ‟. Neutraceuticals, in broad, are food or part of food playing a significant part in modifying and maintaining normal physiological action that maintains healthy mortal beings. In recent times there's a growing interest in Neutraceuticals which give health benefits and are indispensable to ultramodern drug. Neutraceuticals-rich vegetables and fruits are an important element of a healthy diet. The top reasons for the growth of the Neutraceuticals request worldwide are the current population and the health trends. The food products used as Neutraceuticals can be distributed as salutary fiber, prebiotics, probiotics, polyunsaturated adipose acids, antioxidants and other different types of herbal/ natural foods. Neutraceuticals are salutary supplements, employed to meliorate health, detention ability, help conditions, and support the proper functioning of the mortal body. presently, Neutraceuticals are gaining substantial attention due to nutrition and remedial capabilities. Grounded on their sources, they're distributed as salutary supplements and herbal bioactive composites. The global request for Neutraceuticals is huge i.e. roughly USD 117 billion. Herbal Neutraceuticals helps in maintaining health and promoting optimal health, life, and quality of life. Studies have shown promising results of Neutraceuticals to treat several
World Journal of Biology Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 2025, 24(02), 081-087 82 conditions, similar as cancer, neurodegenerative conditions, cardiovascular conditions, etc. In the present review, an overview of colorful bioactive constituents that act as Neutraceuticals( carbohydrates, lipids, comestible flowers, alkaloids, medicinal shops, etc.) and their part in health benefits, has been bandied. farther operation of Neutraceuticals in the forestallment of colorful conditions has also been bandied. The Neutraceuticals request is vast, encompassing numerous different products with inconsistent situations of substantiation available to support their use. This overview represents a Western perspective of the Neutraceuticals request, with a brief comparison with that in China, as an illustration of how individual health supplements increase and drop in fashion ability in indigenous terms. Recent changes in deals patterns, substantially taken from the US request, are epitomized and a selection of five newer products, which have n't been subject to expansive recent review are penciled astaxanthin, a carotenoid set up in red algae, seafood, salmon and trout, as an antioxidant; cannabidiol, a non ‐ ecstatic marijuana component used as mood enhancer and for painful/ seditious conditions; modified excerpts of ginseng used in new suggestions including madness and space trip; monk fruit, a non ‐ sugar high intensity sweetener and nigella seed, a popular food component and Asian drug, which has endured an extraordinary rise in deals lately.Since ancient times, sauces have been used as natural remedies for curing numerous physiological diseases. Traditional medicinal literature appreciated their value as nature's gift to humanity for the mending of ails. Some of the sauces have also been used for culinary purposes, and many of them have been used in rubbish manufacture both as jelling agents and flavor constituents. Scientific examinations regarding natural exertion and toxin of chemical halves present in numerous sauces have been carried out over a period of time. Accordingly, literature related to the use of sauces or their functional constituents in foods and their commerce with food ingredients has been appearing in recent times. This composition presents the information regarding some biologically active ingredients being in generally used sauces, viz., alkaloids, anthraquinones, bitters, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and essential canvases , their physiological functionalities, and also the description of many sauces of significance, viz., Asparagus racemosus, Withania somnifera, Bacopa monniera, Pueraria tuberose, Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia belerica, Terminalia arjuna, and Aloe Vera, in terms of their chemical composition, natural functionality, and toxin. This composition also reviews the use of sauces and their active constituents in foods and their relations with different food ingredients. The ultimate thing of medicine product development is to design a system that maximizes the remedial eventuality of the medicine substance and facilitates its access to cases. Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms Tablets, Third Edition is a comprehensive resource of the design, expression, manufacture, and evaluation of the tablet lozenge form, and with over 700 illustrations it guides pharmaceutical scientists and masterminds through delicate and specialized procedures in a simple easytofollow format. Powdered medicines aren't generally used alone when formulating solid lozenge forms. A variety of excipients. similar as diluents, disintegrantes, binding agents and lubricants, the vast maturity in greasepaint form. are included for particular functions. These are also reused into accessible forms for medicine administration. Whilst full chemical biographies of medicines and complements are generally well defined fCor quality assurance purposes, it's also applicable to understand their abecedarian greasepaint and processing parcels since these parameters can significantly affect the manufacture and performance of solid lozenge forms. In addition, with the fadding complication of processing outfit with regard to speed and robotization and the complexity of certain formulations, similar as controlled release medications, the selection of medicine species and complements has come more critical. Subtle variations in solidstate parcels, then regarded as the natural parcels of element chargers, between butches and between suppliers, can lead to manufacturing problems (Jones, 198 I). Increased understanding of greasepaint parcels now allows greasepaint characteristics to be defined more completely permitting a more quantitative approach to expression design und processing than by the more traditional empirical styles. In this composition, the significance of the solidstate parcels of pharmaceutical maquillages are considered in terms of the selection of medicine species and complements in phrasings, and the processes involved in the manufacture of solid lozenge forms. Until the late 1950s the vast maturity of tablets produced in the world were manufactured by a process taking granulation of the powdered ingredients previous to tableting. The primary purpose of the granulation step is to produce a freeflowing and compressible admixture of active constituents and excipients. The vacuity of new excipients or new forms of old excipients, particularly paddings and binders, and the invention of new (or the revision of old) tablet ministry have allowed the product of tablets by the important simpler procedure of direct contraction. still, in malignancy of its numerous egregious advantages, tableting by direct contraction has not been widely espoused indeed in those cases where it would feel to be technically doable and profitable. The reasons for this can be understood only by reviewing the development of directcontraction technology and the decisionmaking way involved in opting one manufacturing process over another. nonstop direct contraction (CDC) has attracted significant attention because it offers several advantages, including high outfit application; low operating costs; simplification of overall product/ quality assessment through online dimension, modeling, and robotization; low variability through process control; low force situations; and reduced driver influence. Despite considerable sweats to advance pharmaceutical manufacturing through this invention, multitudinous specialized challenges persist for the transition from conventional direct contraction(DC) to CDC.
World Journal of Biology Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 2025, 24(02), 081-087 83 2. Material and Method 2.1. Cinnamon A tiny, altitudinous, 10to 15-meter (32.8to 49.2-base) evergreen tree, cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum, reversal C. zeylanicum) is indigenous to South India and Sri Lanka and is a member of the Lauraceae family. The greenish-colored flowers, which are grouped in panicles, have a pronounced scent. The fruit is a single-seeded, grandiloquent berry that is one centimeter in size. Sweet essential oil painting, which accounts for 0.5 to 1 of its composition, is what gives it its flavor. It functions similarly to other erratic canvases in drugs and was once used as a remedy for snap. Diarrhea and other digestive issues have also been treated with it. Cinnamon has a high antioxidant content. The essential oil painting of Cinnamon also has antimicrobial parcels, which aid in the preservation of certain foods." Cinnamon has been reported to have remarkable pharmacological goods in the treatment of type II diabetes. Cinnamon has traditionally been used to treat toothache and fight bad breath and its regular use is believed to stave off common cold wave and aid digestion. Figure 1 Cinnamon 2.2. Ginger Zingiber officinale, or gingito, is another popular herbal supplement. Despite being widely used in cooking, it is also used in many cases to treat a number of ailments. Gusto has demonstrated efficacy in treating postoperative nausea and vomiting as well as pregnancy-induced nausea. Its usage for other forms of nausea and vomiting, such as stir sickness, has little evidence to support it. Gusto has been used in a few trials to alleviate arthritic symptoms, with varying degrees of success. Figure 2 Ginger 2.3. Resources Ginger and cinnamon are utilized as active ingredients in pharmaceuticals. While cinnamon has seditious properties, ginger has antioxidant properties. Ascorbic acid serves as a preservative, lactose as a diluent, talc as a lubricant, calcium stearate as a binder, liquorice powder as a sweetener, and mannitol as a bulk-forming agent.
World Journal of Biology Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 2025, 24(02), 081-087 84 2.4. Precompression studies 2.4.1. Angle of repose This is the greatest angle that can be formed between the vertical airplane and the freestanding face of the greasepaint mound. Utilizing a fixed channel system, it was ascertained. A certain amount of greasepaint medication was applied to the channel while the thumb was used to block the channel's perforation. Its angle of repose was measured at zero once the greasepaint had been removed from the channel. Angle of repose (0) = tan h/ r 2.4.2. Bulk density It's the rate of bulk mass of greasepaint to the bulk volume. It's denoted by ps. Bulk viscosity is used to find out unity. Bulk viscosity(ps) = M/ Vb Where, M is the mass of the sample, Vt bulk volume 2.4.3. Tapped density It's the rate of the weight of greasepaint to the minimal volume enthralled in measuring cylinder. Tapped viscosity is determined by placing a graduated cylinder containing a known mass of medicine expression on a mechanical stopcock outfit which is operated at fixed no. of gates (1000) until the greasepaint bed reached a minimal volume. Tapped viscosity(pt) weight of greasepaint mix/ minimal volume enthralled by cylinder Compressibility indicators 2.4.4. Carr's index Grounded on the apparent bulk viscosity and the tapped viscosity, the chance compressibility of the greasepaint admixture was determined by the following formula. Carr's indicator = Tapped viscosityBulk viscosity x 100/ Tapped viscosity 2.4.5. Hausner's ratio t's a circular indicator of ease of measuring of greasepaint inflow. Lower Hausner's rate(1,25) indicates better inflow parcels than advanced bone (1.25). Hausner's rate = Tapped viscosity/ Bulk viscosity 2.4.6. Post-compression studies of set nutraceuticals’ tablets overcome the nutraceuticals’ tablets were estimated for colorful parameters after consideration of pre-formulation to during expression medication. These are suchlike appearance, consistence, weight variation, hardness and frangibility. All the evaluation parameters of all phrasings 2.4.7. Physical appearance The general appearance of tablet was studies visually in shape, color, texture and odor. 2.4.8. Consistence The tablet consistence was calculated by Vernier calipers. Tablet was put in between two jaws vertically and measured consistence and 6 tablets were used for this test and expressed in mm. 2.4.9. Weight variation Weight variation test is run by importing 20 tablets collectively, calculating the average weight and comparing individual tablet weight to the normal. The weight variation test would be a satisfactory system of determining the medicine content uniformity of tablets.
World Journal of Biology Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 2025, 24(02), 081-087 85 2.4.10. Hardness Hardness also nominated as tablet crushing strength. The tablet hardness was determined by Monsanto hardness tester. The tablet was placed lengthwise between upper and lower plunger and force applied by turning a threaded bolt until the tablet fractures and measured. hardness of tablet in Kg/ cm ² 2.4.11. Frangibility It's determined by Roche fabricator, subjects a number of tablets to combined goods of bruise and shock by exercising a plastic chamber that revolves at 25 rpm, dropping tablet from elevation distance operated for 100 revolutions. Preweighed tablets were dusted and re-weighed and according to standard limit frangibility should be lower than 1. It's calculated by formulaFrangibility = original weight-Final weight/ original weight." 3. Result and Evaluation 3.1. Pre-compression studies of greasepaint mix The evaluation parameters similar as angle of repose, bulk viscosity, tapped viscosity, Carr's indicator and Hausner's rate were set up to be 22.1240.11 to 25.46 ± 0.12(0).0.40720.21 to 0.4741 ± 0.32 g/ ml, 0.4132 ± 0.17 to 0.4965 ± 0.028 g/ ml, 11.0010.12 to 15.17 ± 0.39, 1.15 ± 0.012 to 1.19 ± 0.13 independently. After evaluation of pre-formulation parameters, it showed that there's no presence of humidity power and showed uniformity of greasepaint mix". After study of inflow rate, it concludes that greasepaint mix live optimum proportion that leads to outside inflow rate. So, the result showed that the greasepaint has good flowing property which doesn't beget affect the process of tablet punching. 3.2. Post Compression 3.2.1. Physical appearance The general appearance of tablet was set up to be round. in shape, brown in color, smooth texture, and odorless. 3.2.2. Consistence The consistence of clove and cinnamon containing nutraceuticals’ tablet was set up to be 1.2 0.1 cm. depends upon the size of bones and punches or a function of bones filler and contraction force. 3.2.3. Weight variation The weight of 20 tablets was measured and it was set up to be 0.397 ± 0.012 to 0.399 ± 0.034 for all phrasings independently. All the nutraceuticals’ tablet containing clove and cinnamon passed weight variation test as the average chance weight variation was within the USP limits of 15. 3.2.4. Hardness The hardness of conventional nutraceuticals’ tablet was set up to be 4.31 ± 0.21 kg/ cm ² to 5.21 ± 0.033 for clove and cinnamon containing phrasings. Mannitol containing expression law showed more brickle and lower hardness than lactose as diluents. It's depended upon the contraction force of punching machine and showed that it's sufficient for permitting mechanical strength. Tablets showed sufficiently hard to repel breaking during packaging, payload, and normal running. 3.2.5. Frangibility Frangibility of all phrasings was set up to be 0.14 ± 0.045 to 0.3140.0.12. The frangibility of clove and cinnamon containing tablet was set up to be in respectable limit i.e. lower than 1. There no circumscribing problem occurs in the tablets so it could be considered for marketable use. It produced no loss during shipping process. 4. Conclusion From the below study, we conclude that the Neutraceuticals tablets were prepared by direct contraction system and gave satisfactory and respectable result. Conventional tablet of Neutraceuticals shows immediate medicine release due to direct compressed tablet. The expression containing clove could be more salutary as an analgesic due to the presence of eugenol than cinnamon containing tablet. From the below exploration work it was concluded that herbal
