First use of the simulator Interview after using the gamified version (Student) Script Questions User name 1. What is the username you used on the simulator's login screen? 1.2 What is the email? General Impression and Interest 2. What did you think of this version of the simulator for training? 3. Were there any particular aspects that you liked more or less? New Phase 4. You used a version of the simulator that included an aircraft that caused damage to you, what did you think of it? Time Limit 5. The session had a time limit, what did you think of it? Reward System 6. You earned rewards for completing tasks during training, what did you think of that? Ranking/Competition 7. The ranking shows how you compare to other soldiers. How do you see this competition in training? Visual Feedback 8. The simulator shows visual feedback, such as when you or a colleague eliminate an enemy, for example. What did you think of this visual feedback? Progress 9. On the simulator's main screen, you could monitor your progress through the simulation history. Since you've only done one simulation so far, it's not possible to compare your results with those of other simulations to check your evolution, but you can analyze how you performed in this single simulation. What did you think of monitoring this progress in your training? Reward Exchange for Benefits/Advantages 10. You could exchange rewards for items in the simulator, such as exchanging coins for ammunition count or the use of a compass, for example. What did you think of this feature? Gifts/Cooperation 11. The simulator allowed exchanging 'gifts' with other soldiers. What did you think of this feature? Voice Chat Communication 12. Voice chat is used for communication during training. What did you think of this feature? Suggestions 13. If you could change something in the simulator, what would you suggest? Why? First use of the simulator Interview after using the non-gamified version (Student) Script Questions User name 1. What is the username you used on the simulator's login screen? 1.2 What is the email? General Impression and Interest 2. What did you think of this version of the simulator for training? 3. Were there any particular aspects that you liked more or less? Suggestions 4. If you could change something in the simulator, what would you suggest? Why? Second use of the simulator Interview after using the gamified version (Student) Script Questions User name 1. What is the username you used on the simulator's login screen? General Impression and Interest 2. What did you think of this version of the simulator for training? 3. Were there any particular aspects that you liked more or less? 4. What did you think of this version of the simulator for training compared to the version you used first? New Phase 5. You used a version of the simulator that included an aircraft that caused damage to you, what did you think of it? 5.1. Did it change your experience in any way compared to the first version you used? Time Limit 6. The session had a time limit, what did you think of it? 6.1 Did it change your experience in any way compared to the first version you used? Reward System 7. You earned rewards for completing tasks, what did you think of that? Ranking/Competition 8. The ranking shows how you compare to other soldiers. How do you see this competition in training? 8.1. In the version you used first, there was no ranking. In which of the two versions did you feel more comfortable? Why? Visual Feedback 9. The simulator shows visual feedback, such as when you or a colleague eliminate an enemy, for example. What did you think of this visual feedback? Progress 10. On the simulator's main screen, you could monitor your progress through the simulation history. Since you've only done one simulation so far, it's not possible to compare your results with those of other simulations to check your evolution, but you can analyze how you performed in this single simulation. What did you think of monitoring this progress in your training? Reward Exchange for Benefits/Advantages 11. You could exchange rewards for benefits in the simulator, such as exchanging coins for ammunition count or the use of a compass, for example. Did you use this feature? Gifts/Cooperation 12. The simulator allowed exchanging 'gifts' with other soldiers. What did you think of this feature? Voice Chat Communication 13. Voice chat is used for communication during training. What did you think of this feature? 14. Comparing how you communicated with the team in both versions of the simulator, which one worked better for you? Why? Fidelity and Realism 15. Which of the two versions of the simulator seemed more faithful to real training? Why? Suggestions 16. If you could change something in the simulator, what would you suggest? Why? Second use of the simulator Interview after using the non-gamified version (Student) Script Questions User name 1. What is the username you used on the simulator's login screen? General Impression and Interest 2. What did you think of this version of the simulator for training? 3. Were there any particular aspects that you liked more or less? 4. What did you think of this version of the simulator for training compared to the version you used first? Fidelity and Realism 5. Which of the two versions of the simulator seemed more faithful to real training? Why? Use and Experience 6. Comparing how you communicated with the team in both versions of the simulator, which one worked better for you? Why? 7. The first version of the simulator you used included a ranking that showed your position in relation to others, unlike this last version you just used. In which of the two versions did you feel more comfortable? Why? 8. The first version of the simulator you used included a time limit to perform the simulation. Did it change your experience in any way compared to this version you just used? 9. In the first simulation, you used a gamified version of the simulator that included an aircraft that caused damage to you. Did it change your experience in any way compared to this last version you used? Suggestions 10. If you could change something in the simulator, what would you suggest? Why? First use of the simulator Interview after using the gamified version (Instructor) Script Questions General Experience 1. How was your experience using this version of the simulator to evaluate training? 2. How was the student training in this session? 3. Were there aspects of the simulator that helped or hindered student training? Client Status Tab 4. The 'Client Status' tab shows the status of students with different colors. What did you think of that? Simulation Logs History Tab 5. The simulator allowed saving simulation logs for future analysis. What did you think of this feature? Ranking 6. In this version of the simulator, it was possible to view the student ranking. How does this competition affect student training? Simulation History 7. In this version of the simulator, it was possible to view the history of each student's simulations. How did this influence your evaluation? Feedback 9. If you could change something in the simulator, what would you suggest? Why?
