Introduction. Industrial production processes are among the main sectors of human activity and play a crucial role in economic development and societal wellbeing. However, to ensure the effectiveness and profitability of production, attention must be given to workplace safety and employees' health. Occupational accidents and diseases not only harm workers’ health but also reduce production efficiency, cause economic losses, and negatively impact social welfare. SCIENCE AND PEDAGOGY IN THE MODERN WORLD: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Vol. 3. Issue 9. 157 Accidents typically occur due to human errors or unforeseen events in production processes and often result in severe injuries or fatalities. Occupational diseases, on the other hand, develop over prolonged exposure to harmful working conditions or improper technologies. Preventing these incidents and creating safe working conditions is critical for enhancing production efficiency, safeguarding employee health, and maintaining corporate reputation. This article analyzes the types, causes, and consequences of occupational accidents and diseases in industrial production, and examines the methods to counter them. It also highlights the necessary measures to create safe working conditions and protect employees. Practical recommendations are provided to reduce the incidence of accidents and occupational diseases in the industrial sector. Literature Review. The topic “Analysis of Occupational Accidents and Occupational Diseases in Industrial Production” encompasses extensive scientific research on industrial safety, labor hygiene, and employee health. The main purpose of this literature is to study the causes of workplace accidents and occupational diseases, analyze their consequences, and develop prevention methods. Many studies focus on classifying the main types of accidents and occupational diseases in industrial production. For example, Hasanov S.X. (2019) emphasizes that accidents and occupational illnesses are linked to technological processes, working conditions, and employees’ neglect of their own health [5]. Similarly, Kamilov N.S. (2021) identifies the most common causes of accidents as hazardous technologies, unsafe working conditions, and workers’ failure to follow safety rules. Occupational diseases have also been widely studied. For instance, Bobojonov M.M. (2018) discusses illnesses caused by exposure to hazardous substances, including respiratory diseases (such as tuberculosis) and SCIENCE AND PEDAGOGY IN THE MODERN WORLD: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Vol. 3. Issue 9. 158 gastrointestinal disorders. He emphasizes that proper production processes and safe working conditions are essential to prevent occupational diseases [2]. Qodirov R.P. (2020) studied diseases resulting from excessive noise, lighting issues, and physical overload, particularly affecting vision and hearing. The study highlights preventive measures such as regular medical examinations and adherence to hygiene standards as the most effective ways to prevent occupational diseases [3]. Research also emphasizes creating safe working conditions to reduce accidents and occupational diseases. Abdukhakimov D.A. (2022) stresses the importance of regular safety training, strict adherence to occupational safety and hygiene standards, and minimizing the use of hazardous technologies [1]. Norboyev J.I. (2019) highlights the need to educate employees on safety and strengthen labor protection laws, arguing that coordinated production processes and annual safety inspections are crucial to preventing accidents and occupational illnesses. Problem Statement. Accidents in industrial production manifest in various forms, including injuries, fires, explosions, technical failures, and others. Occupational diseases, such as respiratory, auditory, and musculoskeletal disorders, have been extensively studied. Abdukhakimov D.A. (2022) notes that workplace accidents are related to technological processes, the presence of hazardous substances, and human factors [1]. Bobojonov M.M. (2018) identifies improper working conditions, excessive physical load, and exposure to hazardous chemicals as primary causes of occupational diseases [2]. The economic consequences of accidents and occupational diseases have also been widely analyzed. Such issues reduce labor productivity, increase worker incapacity, and cause financial losses for companies. Qodirov R.P. (2020) SCIENCE AND PEDAGOGY IN THE MODERN WORLD: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Vol. 3. Issue 9. 159 highlights costs related to medical treatment, production stoppages, and long-term work incapacity as significant economic consequences [3]. Various measures have been proposed to reduce accidents and occupational diseases. Torakulov S.T. (2020) studied modern methods for ensuring labor safety, reducing risks, conducting regular training for workers, and modernizing hazardous work processes [4]. Hasanov S.X. (2019) emphasized the necessity of industrial modernization, technological upgrades, and production optimization to maintain worker health and create safe working conditions [5]. Analysis and Results. Occupational accidents and diseases in industrial production can halt work processes and seriously impact employee health. Statistical analysis is crucial for identifying risks and developing effective prevention measures. 1. Prevalence of Accidents and Occupational Diseases Statistical data on labor safety and health are key sources for determining the number of accidents and occupational illnesses in industrial sectors. Accidents often result from injuries, fires, explosions, electric shocks, and exposure to hazardous substances. Occupational diseases primarily occur from prolonged exposure to harmful conditions, affecting respiratory, auditory, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems. In 2023, statistics show that in Uzbekistan’s major industrial enterprises, there were 45 accidents per 10,000 workers. Of these, 25% resulted in injuries, and 10% in fatalities. Many of these incidents were associated with hazardous chemicals and technical malfunctions. Table 1. Distribution of Occupational Diseases. Occupational diseases are widespread in industries such as construction, mining, and chemical production. In 2023, 60% of workers who became incapacitated did so due to occupational diseases. Of these, 40% were respiratory system disorders (e.g., pulmonary fibrosis) and 20% auditory disorders (e.g., noise-induced hearing loss). SCIENCE AND PEDAGOGY IN THE MODERN WORLD: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Vol. 3. Issue 9. 162 3. Economic Consequences. Accidents and occupational diseases significantly reduce production efficiency. In 2023, more than 8,000 workers became incapacitated due to accidents and occupational illnesses in Uzbekistan, causing production stoppages, financial losses, and increased healthcare costs. The estimated economic loss exceeded 1.5 trillion UZS. 4. Effectiveness of Preventive Measures. Measures such as modernizing hazardous technologies, conducting safety training, and regular medical check-ups significantly reduce accidents and occupational diseases. In 2023, over 500 safety trainings conducted in industrial enterprises reduced accidents by 15%. SCIENCE AND PEDAGOGY IN THE MODERN WORLD: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Vol. 3. Issue 9. 163 Conclusion. Research and analysis show that occupational accidents and diseases in industrial production are serious problems affecting both worker health and production efficiency. Primary causes include technological errors, hazardous substances, unsafe working conditions, and non-compliance with safety regulations. A systematic and integrated approach is required to prevent accidents and occupational diseases. This includes implementing modern technologies, improving working conditions, conducting regular safety training, and enforcing labor protection laws. Such an approach can reduce accidents and occupational diseases while enhancing production efficiency. References 1. Abdukhakimov, D.A. (2022).
