Research Tools at a Glance Templates for an Overview of Collaboration Tools and Storage Options in Research Institutions Key Challenges addressed with this work •Lack of general tool overview •Time-consuming tool research •Insufficient awareness of available resources Challenges in Research Data Management Study To evaluate current RDM practices at the H-BRS, identify potential gaps in available training and information material and ensure that new materials fit the need, we conduct qualitative interviews in several research areas at the H-BRS with groups of researchers on the same project. Especially findings concerning overhead match with the challenges identified in literature. Purpose: Help researchers quickly identify suitable tools for various collaborative tasks. Content: Focuses on four common tool types - Electronic lab notebook, Wiki, Online text editor, and Reference management - with detailed feature comparisons. Implementation: A visually appealing template clustered by tool type and supported operating systems. Overview of Tools for Collaborative Working Purpose: Facilitate easy comparison of different storage solutions available. Content: Features such as storage space, access methods, data protection, and costs are color-coded and symbol-indicated for clarity. Implementation: A structured table layout with descriptions and contact information for each storage option. Overview of Storage Options Introduction The ever-evolving landscape of digital tools in universities often leaves researchers and students struggling to keep track of available resources. As research data management becomes increasingly important, universities must provide clear guidance on tool selection. This work introduces templates for comparing collaboration tools and storage options, aiding in the efficient selection of tools by offering a structured comparison and short descriptions of the tools available. Ease of Adaptation: The templates are licensed under CC0 and can be customized to fit the offerings of different universities. Dissemination: Can be distributed as flyers, posters, or embedded in university websites for maximum visibility. Why use the Templates?
