KEYWORDS: continuance intention, perceived usefulness, perceived trust, perceived security, promotion, Gen Z I. INTRODUCTION The prevalence of e-wallets has surged significantly over the last decade, mostly attributable to the worldwide shift towards cashless transactions across all sectors. The beneficial attributes of e-wallets, such as efficiency, costeffectiveness, convenience, and accelerated payment processes, have resulted in their widespread use as a payment mechanism in several countries (Abbasi et al., 2022; Purnamawati et al., 2023). E-wallets, or digital wallets, are advantageous, safe, and beneficial (Kurniawan et al., 2022). Mew & Millan (2021) stated that e-wallets facilitate peer-to-peer payments, loyalty card management, electronic receipt storage, bill payments, and coupon use directly from smartphone applications. E-wallets represent the most efficient form of digital payment, as they consolidate the entire wallet within a single device, ensuring privacy and security (Singh et al. 2023). The value of e-wallet transactions in Indonesia is anticipated to increase from $28 billion in 2020 to $107 billion by 2025. It is anticipated that Indonesia's e-wallet transactions will rise from 1.7 billion in 2020 to 16 billion by 2025 (Wong, 2021). InsightAsia published a research in 2023 that offers an assessment of the digital wallet landscape in Indonesia. A significant study indicates that ewallets are progressively emerging as the favored payment option among Indonesian consumers, surpassing cash and bank transfers, with 71% of respondents actively use ewallets for diverse financial activities. GoPay has consistently been the most utilized e-wallet platform over the past five years, with 71% of users having employed GoPay and 58% of respondents utilizing it regularly. OVO secured second position, with 70% of respondents having utilized it previously, and 53% persisting in its frequent use. In third position are two platforms: Dana, with 61% of e-wallet users reporting prior usage, and ShopeePay, with 51% of respondents indicating regular use of the payment platform (Respati & Pratama, 2022). A Snapcart survey revealed that ShopeePay is the preferred option for online buying among Indonesia’s consumers at 59%, followed by OVO at 18%, Gopay at 9%, Dana at 10%, and LinkAja at 4%. ShopeePay's diverse and appealing features, along with its promotional offerings, make it a favored option (Hafiz, 2021). “Factors Influencing Continuance Intention of ShopeePay E-wallet Among Generation Z” 4884 Farida Nursjanti1, IJMEI Volume 11 Issue 12 December 2025 Most research on digital wallets emphasizes initial utilization and usage habits (Oliveira et al., 2016), while insufficiently addressing the intention to continue using ewallets. Nascimento et al. (2018) contended that persistent usage, rather than initial adoption, is the determinant of success for technology-based services. The requirement and acquaintance with technologies drive active user engagement. Moreover, users' first adoption of e-wallets as new technology marks merely the initiation; their eventual success regarding sustained usage is uncertain (Herjanto, 2020). Consequently, e-wallet service providers must incentivize and retain existing users to ensure continued app utilization. Nevertheless, e-wallet providers gave inadequate focus to the objective of sustained usage of ewallets (Abdul-Halim et al., 2022). Multiple studies have identified many variables that influence users' intention to continue using e-wallets for transactions. Garrouch (2021) asserts that the continuance intention of using e-wallets is affected by perceived security, perceived usefulness, and perceived trust. Perceived usefulness significantly influences the intention to continue using e-wallets, as evidenced by studies conducted by Kumar et al. (2018), Brahmanta & Wardhani (2021), and Aisy, et al. (2024). However, Arahita & Hatamimi (2015) and Azka et. al (2023) asserted that perceived usefulness did not significantly influence continuance intention positively. The continuance intention in using e-wallets is positively influenced by perceived trust (Raihan and Rachmawati, 2019; Narahdita et al., 2020; Julia et al., 2024; Wiratama et al., 2025; Syliviani et al., 2025). Conversely, Masarianti & Darwini (2019) concluded that perceived trust has a non-significant effect on continuance intention of e-wallets. According to the findings of Wiratama et al. (2025), perceived security significantly enhances the intention to reuse e-wallets. However, Visakha & Keni (2021), Syliviani et al. (2025), and Aprilia & Amalia (2022) found that the intention to continue using e-wallets is positively and non-significantly influenced by perceived security. Beside the perception of benefits, trust, and security, promotions might also enhance the intention to continue in utilizing e-wallets. Rambe & Bangsawan (2023) discovered that promotion strongly influences the continuance intention in using the ShopeePay e-wallet. Meanwhile, Zed et al. (2024) discovered that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use influenced the continuance intention of the ShopeePay e-wallet, while promotion was found to be insignificant. Generation Z is particularly interesting because of to their extensive mobile usage and tendency to embrace emerging technologies, such as mobile wallets. Generation Z, recognized for their technological proficiency, is anticipated to lead in e-wallet adoption attributed to the numerous features and conveniences provided by these digital financial instruments (Sinha et al., 2019). Generation Z developed with the fast growth of the internet and technology, leading to distinctive consumption behaviors in contrast to previous generations. Their technological adaption presents substantial prospects for companies, especially in digital services, e-commerce, and the creative sector. In recent years, the evolution of the digital economy has been extensively impacted by the considerable population of Indonesian Gen Z individuals. Their digital behaviors also affect consumption patterns, lifestyles, and the development of Indonesia's digital economic transition. Generation Z constitutes 27.9% of Indonesia's total population, amounting to 74.9 million people, thereby making it the largest generational group in the country. This substantial segment positions them as the dominant group in the labor market for the forthcoming 10 to 20 years (Alfan, 2025). This demographic, characterized by a significant proportion of Gen Z, presents an attractive opportunity for services within a digital economy, where ewallets serve as a competitive payment method (Phan et al., 2020). Utomo & Heriyanto (2022) stated that 52 percent of Indonesia's Generation Z utilizes e-wallets. The latest survey was conducted by Populix in Q1 2023 reveals that young Indonesians, particularly those from Generation Z, favor ShopeePay as their electronic wallet. ShopeePay, the official digital wallet service of the Shopee marketplace, facilitates transactions for both buyers and sellers. ShopeePay additionally provides other functions, including payments using QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) scans, top-ups by bank transfer, and transfers to bank accounts. The ShopeePay application regularly provides exclusive incentives that enable digital transactions more cost-effective, convenient, and advantageous, thereby driving customers to persist in its usage. ShopeePay's status as the preferred e-wallet among Gen Z indicates that service integration, ease of use, and an efficient system are essential for success in the digital wallet industry (Farhan, 2025). Since ShopeePay is the leading e-wallet among Gen Z and the discrepancies in research findings concerning the ShopeePay e-wallet, it is essential to investigate the factors affecting the intention to continue using the ShopeePay ewallet. Investigations into the continuance intention of ShopeePay e-wallets among users, particularly within Generation Z, remain few. The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of perceived usefulness, perceived trust, perceived security, and promotion on Generation Z's continuance intention of the ShopeePay e-wallet. The research findings are going to assist the ShopeePay ewallet service provider in formulating service plans and enhancing users' intention to continue utilizing its services. The findings can provide insights into the characteristics and behaviors of Generation Z, enabling the Shopeepay e- “Factors Influencing Continuance Intention of ShopeePay E-wallet Among Generation Z” 4885 Farida Nursjanti1, IJMEI Volume 11 Issue 12 December 2025 wallet service provider in enhancing its products by evaluating the factors influencing Gen Z's intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet. II. LITERATURE REVIEW Continuance Intention Amoroso & Chen (2017) define the degree of consumers' intention to persist in utilizing applications post-initial use as Continuance Intention. Favorable assessments and the intention to persist in utilizing a system or application may derive from its performance aligning with users' expectations. The post-adoption procedures encompass the intention to continue, which is essential for the system's effectiveness (Zhou, 2014). Ladkoom and Thanasopon (2020) define reuse intention, synonymous with continuity intention, as the intention to persist in purchasing products or services following previous interactions. The goal to continue using technology is the main force driving the expansion of the mobile payment market, reflecting an individual's capacity to embrace technology and cultivate a continual intention to use it (Humbani & Wiese, 2018). Continuance Intention has been examined across various digital technology domains, including mobile payments (Humbani & Wiese, 2018), mobile financial applications (Amoroso & Chen, 2017), e-wallets (Olivia & Marchyta, 2022; Shetu et al., 2022; Abdul-Halim et al., 2022), Dana e-wallet (Rambe & Bangsawan, 2023; Pratama & Candiwan, 2025), and ShopeePay e-wallet (Hapsoro & Kismiatun, 2022; Syahreza et al., 2024; Pinem et al., 2025). A. Perceived Usefulness and Continuation Intention Perceived Usefulness, refers to the extent to which an individual believes that utilizing a specific technology will improve their work productivity (Davis et al., 1992). Wang and Li (2016) assert that users will experience perceived usefulness when technology is accessible at any location and at any time. Perceived usefulness encompasses multiple characteristics, including availability, convenience, and time efficiency. Perceived usefulness indicates that if people believe a technology platform's ease of use and comprehensibility, it will positively influence their interest in utilizing the technology. Individuals are more inclined to maintain interaction with digital technology if they perceive it as beneficial. Daragmeh et al. (2021) assert that users' perceptions of the technology's perceived usefulness may affect their decision to continue in its usage. Users will persist in utilizing e-wallets as technology enhances productivity and time efficiency, beside increasing payment processes. The impact of perceived usefulness on continuance intention, however, differs between studies. Perceived Usefulness is a significant predictor of the continuing intention of e-wallet users, as evidenced by multiple prior studies (Jayantari et al., 2021; Tay et al., 2022; Garrouch, 2021; Kumar et al., 2018). Perceived usefulness significantly influences continuance intention in various ewallet studies in Indonesia, such as Dana e-wallet (Rambe & Bangsawan, 2023; Pratama & Candiwan, 2025), Gopay e-wallet (Fachrudi et al., 2023), and ShopeePay e-wallet (Umah & Siswahyudianto, 2022; Safitri et al., 2023; Dwijayanti et al., 2023; Hartono et al., 2023; Syahreza et al., 2024; Pinem et al., 2025), university students (Zed et al., 2024; Nuryasman & Warningsih, 2022; Aisy et al., 2024), and continuance intention among Generation Z (Fadhilah & Rianto, 2023). Similar results from research conducted by Olivia and Marchyta (2022), Hapsoro and Kismiatun (2022), and Pratiwi & Sofwan (2022) indicated that perceived usefulness did not significantly influence the continuing intention of the ShopeePay e-wallet. Therefore, it is proposed that: H1: Perceived Usefulness positively influences Generation Z’s Continuance Intention of ShopeePay e-wallet. B. Perceived Trust and Continuation Intention Singh and Sinha (2020) assert that perceived trust is an emotional state that drives someone to trust another, based upon the other person's positive behavior. Shaw (2014) highlighted that users want their payments to be consistently exchanged for goods or services. They must possess confidence that the transaction will proceed as intended and that no inappropriate entities will access any of the data they disclose. Perceived trust is a significant predictor of the continuance intention of e-wallet users, as evidenced by various prior studies in Indonesia, including those on OVO e-wallet (Darmiasih & Setiawan, 2020), Dana e-wallet (Raihan & Rachmawati, 2019; Fachrudi et al., 2023), Sandy & Firdausy (2021) and ShopeePay e-wallet (Pinem et al., 2025; Nuryasman & Warningsih, 2022; Pratiwi & Sofwan, 2022; Wiratama, 2025). However, Abdul-Halim et al. (2022) and Naufaldi & Tjokrosaputro (2020) determined that the trust variable does not significantly affect the repurchase intention or continuance intention. Kinis and Tanova (2022) assert that if an e-wallet is reliable and minimizes fraud risk, users' trust in it may enhance. Users will utilize e-wallet payments in daily transactions if they possess confidence in them. A hypothesis is hereby established: H2: Perceived trust positively influences Generation Z’s Continuance Intention of ShopeePay e-wallet. C. Perceived Security and Continuation Intention Perceived Security (PS), as defined by Ooi and Tan (2016), refers to the extent to which individuals believe that online transactions are secure. The main challenge for e-wallet users in the government's establishment of a cashless society is to security concerns. For instance, when utilizing e-wallets, customers express concerns regarding websites displaying their images, transaction losses, and debit and credit card fraud (Alam et al., 2021). “Factors Influencing Continuance Intention of ShopeePay E-wallet Among Generation Z” 4886 Farida Nursjanti1, IJMEI Volume 11 Issue 12 December 2025 Prior to further utilization of technology, users will evaluate its safety and security. The user will experience enhanced safety and security, hence continuing to utilize an e-wallet once the system is refined and free from undesired actions (Yeoh, 2022). Research indicated that the continuing intention of e-wallets is affected by perceived security (Garrouch, 2021; Wiratama, 2025). Nonetheless, Aprilia and Amalia (2022) as well as Visakha and Keni (2021) discovered that perceived security does not influence the user's continuous intention about e-wallets. This is because a security system alone is insufficient to motivate consumers to continue utilizing the service. Kaur et al., (2018) stated that making payments via e-wallet without ensuring security can lead to unauthorized access to personal information and a lucrative opportunity for cyber criminals to infringe data. Due to Generation Z's significant reliance on emerging technologies, such as ewallets, researchers must address security and risk, since the nation's escalating information security issues may influence users' intention to continue usage (Mohamed and Ahmad, 2012). Perceived security affects continuing intention, as evidenced by various research on e-wallets in Indonesia, including Dana e-wallet (Rambe & Bangsawan, 2023; Pratama & Candiwan, 2025, Prabawa), OVO e-wallet (Darmiasih & Setiawan, 2020); ShopeePay e-wallet (Hapsoro & Kismiatun, 2022). Fachrudi et al. (2023) shown that perceived security has no significant impact on the intention to utilize the Dana e-wallet. Pinem et al., 2025 discovered that perceived security did not affect the intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet. Due to the inconsistencies in the conclusions of these research, further analysis is required to substantiate the impact of perceived security on the continued intention of the ShopeePay e-wallet. Consequently, the subsequent hypothesis is established: H3: Perceived security positively influences Generation Z’s Continuance Intention of ShopeePay e-wallet. D. Promotion and Continuation Intention Promotion can be defined as incentives employed by sellers to entice purchasers, manifesting as discounts, vouchers, and cashbacks (Chitty et al., 2018). Promotions can boost product perceived value, hence positively influencing consumer behavior. The objectives of promotion are to provide information to the public regarding new businesses, existing markets, new products, or existing offerings. It also attempts to update the public with the offering statement to lessen forgetfulness (Yeshin, 2006). Furthermore, it generates awareness of necessity and stimulates public curiosity (Gherasim et al., 2012). Promotion is an important aspect of the marketing mix employed by organizations to present their products and services. This type of advertising will stimulate consumer interest, leading to the purchase of the offered products and services. Numerous researchers have determined that sales promotions substantially affect consumers' continuance intention, suggesting that more effective promotions yield a greater influence on continuance intention (Lim et al., 2021, Syahreza et al., 2024; Safitri et al., 2023; Tan & Renata, 2023; Auralia et al., 2020; Silaen & Prabawani, 2019; Priskila & Sitinjak, 2019). Conversely, some studies indicate that promotions do not impact continuance intention (Ojiaku & Osarenkhoe, 2018; Zed et al. (2024). This research suggests the following hypothesis: H4: Promotion positively influences Generation Z’s Continuance Intention of ShopeePay e-wallet. III. METHOD This research uses a quantitative descriptive explanatory approach. The problem statement formed the foundation for formulating the hypothesis to do more empirical study. This study was classified as crosssectional for the time frame. This study employed a nonprobability sampling technique. Convenience sampling appeared more suitable due to the absence of an accessible list of Generation Z individuals in Bandung. The research target group comprises Generation Z e-wallet users in Bandung, Indonesia, aged between 16 and 25 years. The sample size was calculated with the formula established by Tabachnick and Fidell (2013). The estimation suggests that the sample size must exceed 82 respondents. A selfadministered questionnaire was chosen for this study due to its cost-effectiveness, user-friendliness, and improved anonymity. The questionnaires were disseminated electronically using Google Forms, and 247 respondents completed completed the answers. The survey comprised two sections. In the initial part, data regarding the respondent's age and e-wallet utilization was collected. The second section of the questionnaire addressed the independent and dependent variables of the survey. This study identifies the continuing intention of ewallets as the dependent variable, with perceived usefulness, perceived trust, perceived security, and promotion as the independent factors. A five-point Likert scale was employed to directly measure respondents' opinions. A five-point Likert scale, ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree, enabled respondents to express their level of agreement or disagreement with a particular statement. The SPSS software was employed to analyze the data. The multiple regression analysis was conducted using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests including normality test, multicollinearity test, and heteroskedasticity test, as well as hypothesis testing utilizing the F-test and t-test. IV. RESULTS The Results of Validity and Reliability Following the validation of the questionnaire items, which confirmed the validity of all statements from each variable, “Factors Influencing Continuance Intention of ShopeePay E-wallet Among Generation Z” 4887 Farida Nursjanti1, IJMEI Volume 11 Issue 12 December 2025 the reliability of the scales was assessed by computing the Cronbach's alpha values for each measure separately. A Cronbach's alpha value of 0.7 or above indicates that the variables are reliable (Pallant, 2020). All variables have Cronbach's Alpha values exceeding 0.7, indicating the reliability of the collected data (Table 1). Table 1: Reliability Results Variables Cronbach' Alpha Continuance Intention .845 Perceived Usefulness .832 Perceived Trust .887 Perceived Security .794 Promotion .744 The Results of the Regression Assumption Test The regression assumption test verifies that the regression model fulfills all the basic assumptions of regression analysis. Supporting these assumptions is essential for acquiring unbiased, efficient, and consistent estimates. The normality test is conducted to ascertain if the residual distribution of the regression model complies to a normal distribution. The One-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test indicates a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.069, exceeding 0.05, so confirming that the residuals are normally distributed at a 5% significance level. A homoscedasticity test was conducted to determine if the residual variance remained constant across the spectrum of predictors. The significance value of all variables exceeds 0.05, indicating that the homoscedasticity criterion has been satisfied. The scatter plot of residuals against the expected values exhibited a random pattern lacking of a specific shape, so corroborating the assumption of homoscedasticity. The multicollinearity test was conducted to ascertain the presence of a significant correlation among the independent variables. All VIF values were below 10, signifying the absence of multicollinearity issues. The tolerance values for all independent variables exceeded 0.1, indicating a lack of significant multicollinearity. Multiple Regression Analysis Table 2 indicates that the computed Adjusted R Square is 0.459. This demonstrated that perceived usefulness, perceived trust, perceived security, and promotion impact accounted for 45.9% of the variance in Generation Z's intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet. Nevertheless, unidentified variables constituted 54.1% of the variance in the determinants affecting the continuing intention of the ShopeePay e-wallet. The F-test statistic in the ANOVA table (Table 2) is 53.223, and the associated significance value is 0.000, which is below the significance level of 0.05. The results indicate that the model's predictors substantially affected the continuance of using the ShopeePay e-wallet. Table 2: Model Fit Summary R .684 R Square .468 Adjusted R Square .459 F Value 53.223 Sig. .000 Table 3 presents the regression coefficient, the β-Value, which quantifies the change in the dependent variable corresponding to a unit change in the independent variable. The greater the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable, the higher the β-value. Perceived Usefulness (β=0.390) is the predominant factor influencing Continuance Intention of e-wallets, followed by Perceived Trust (β=0.273) and Promotion (β=0.110), based on a comparative analysis of the β-values of the independent variables. Dependent Variable: Continuance Intention The hypotheses are validated if the p-value (significance threshold) remains below 0.05. Table 3 indicates that three independent variables, namely perceived usefulness, perceived trust, and promotion, significantly positively affect the continuance intention of the ShopeePay e-wallet among Generation Z. The p-values for perceived usefulness, perceived trust, and promotion are 0.000, 0.000, and 0.048, respectively. Perceived security does not significantly affect continuance intention of the ShopeePay e-wallet among Generation Z, as evidenced by a p-value of 0.213, which more than the limit of 0.05. “Factors Influencing Continuance Intention of ShopeePay E-wallet Among Generation Z” 4888 Farida Nursjanti1, IJMEI Volume 11 Issue 12 December 2025 The Influence of Perceived Usefulness on Continuance Intention The results indicate that within Generation Z, Perceived Usefulness has a strong positive impact on their continuance intention of using the ShopeePay e-wallet. An increase in perceived usefulness correlates with a raised intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet. This finding aligns with previous studies conducted by Jayantari et al. (2021), Olivia and Marchyta (2022), and Tay et al. (2022). The perceived usefulness indicates the reliability and efficiency of the e-wallet. Users must perceive the ewallet application as advantageous to continue utilizing it. If users perceive the e-wallet as beneficial, they will continue to utilize it. Perceived usefulness makes a substantial positive impact on continuance intention, as consumers or users possess the capability of using technology to search for the products or services they require, based upon the prevalent motivation and opportunities (Brahmanta and Wardhani, 2021). Generation Z users will persist in using e-wallets after they comprehend their prospective advantages. E-wallets are particularly advantageous for Generation Z users due to their accessibility, efficiency, transparency, and flexibility. The efficacy of ShopeePay e-wallet usage, time savings leading to enhanced productivity, and the importance of a cohesive system all influence the intention to constantly use the ShopeePay e-wallet. The Influence of Perceived Trust on Continuance Intention The study's results indicated that perceived trust is a significant element positively affecting Gen Z's continued use of the ShopeePay e-wallet. Users that possess confidence in a service are more inclined to persist in its use rather than transition to an alternative, and trust has been identified as a crucial factor for continuity intention. The results of this study align with the research conducted by Kumar et al. (2018), Raihan and Rachmawati (2019), Chawla and Joshi (2019), Tay et al. (2022), and Darmiasih and Setiawan (2020), which identified trust as an essential factor of users' continuing intention for e-wallets. Users are more inclined to continue using an e-wallet service if they see the provider as reliable and transparent. The user's intention to continue will be positively influenced if they possess confidence in technology that can improve their quality of life and provide safety and reliability. Users' confidence will increase and their usage of e-wallets will persist if they are assured that technological issues can be addressed and that the service provider's laws and regulations can prevent complications during usage (Tay et al., 2022). Perceived trust denotes an understanding that e-wallet platforms are dependable, uphold data privacy, and deliver consistent, low-risk services (Dewi & Ramli, 2023). These findings correspond with the study of Senali et al. (2023), which asserts that trust is an essential factor in the postadoption period of technology utilization, especially in promoting sustained usage. Moreover, these findings corroborate the research conducted by Alam et al. (2021), which highlighted that trust influences not only the first decision to use a technology but also contributes to the development of enduring user loyalty. This study demonstrates that trust is an essential variable in Generation Z's intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet. If the ShopeePay e-wallet system is considered unreliable, Generation Z users will keep away from utilizing it. Consequently, Generation Z users are more inclined to adopt and utilize any e-wallet system when there is an elevated level of trust. It should be noted, however, that trust in technology systems and devices is associated with security. Users are more inclined to trust a system or technology when there is an enhanced level of security. The Influence of Perceived Security on Continuance Intention This study indicates that perceived security positively influences Generation Z's intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet, however the effect is not statistically significant. This research finding indicates that consumers' sustained intention to continue using e-wallets will not be influenced by perceived security levels. This result aligns with the research undertaken by Visakha and Keni (2021) and Aprilia and Amalia (2022). This indicates that customers' inclination to continue using e-wallets will not be influenced by their perception of security. This study illustrates that an effective security system alone is insufficient to persuade Gen Z customers to continue utilizing ShopeePay e-wallets. Generation Z users are significantly more likely to intend to utilize the ShopeePay e-wallet in the future when they perceive security in their payment transactions. Moreover, a crucial barrier preventing users' adoption of technologies like mobile wallets is perceived security. Users will discontinue utilizing the program if they perceive the e-wallet as risky and insecure due to concerns regarding potential financial loss or data breaches. When the ShopeePay e-wallet system ensure optimal security and data protection, the user's e-wallet experience will be considerably more consistent. To enhance Gen Z's intention to continue using ShopeePay e-wallets, it is essential to elevate the perceived security level. The findings of this study provide further evidence that perceived security deserves greater focus, since it substantially affects Generation Z's intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet. The Influence of Promotion on Continuance Intention The study's findings indicated that promotion positively and significantly influences Generation Z's continuance intention in using ShopeePay e-wallets. This indicates that the extent of promotion enhances e-wallet customers' “Factors Influencing Continuance Intention of ShopeePay E-wallet Among Generation Z” 4889 Farida Nursjanti1, IJMEI Volume 11 Issue 12 December 2025 tendency to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet. The findings of this study align with previous research indicating the significant impact of promotion on users' intention to continue using e-wallets (Priskila & Sitinjak, 2019; Silaen & Prabawani, 2019; Auralia et al., 2020; Syahreza et al., 2024; Safitri et al., 2023; Tan & Renata, 2023). These findings align with Pinem (2020), who determined that promotions such as cashback, discounts, and vouchers positively and significantly influence Gen-Z's intention to utilize e-wallets for their everyday purchases. An increase in promotions correlates with enhanced benefits for clients, hence increasing continued usage of the e-wallet (Priskila & Sitinjak, 2019). This outcome suggests that promotions provided by ShopeePay can affect Gen Z customers' continuance intention of the e-wallet. V. CONCLUSIONS This study revealed that the Continuance Intention (CI) of ShopeePay e-wallet among Generation Z in Bandung, Indonesia, is positively and significantly affected by Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Trust, and Promotion. As these factors increase, so does Generation Z’s intention to continue using ShopeePay e-wallet in the future. The primary element affecting the continuance intention in using ShopeePay e-wallets is perceived usefulness. Simultaneously, the continuance intention of Generation Z users regarding the ShopeePay e-wallet is positively influenced by perceived security, although in a nonsignificant degree. This research indicates that Generation Z users are unlikely to persist with the ShopeePay e-wallet only due to their elevated impression of security. To enhance Generation Z's intention to continue using the ShopeePay e-wallet, the provider must concentrate on four key areas, especially to improve Generation Z's view of the e-wallet's security. ShopeePay e-wallet company must consistently evaluate its use, trustworthiness and security to satisfy the demands of Gen Z users. The ShopeePay provider must enhance promotions to motivate and persuade consumers to persist in utilizing the products and services provided by ShopeePay. To address competition among e-wallet providers and the substantial market share of Gen Z, ShopeePay must strengthen the security of its ewallet systems and expand the advantages of its e-wallet offerings to enhance users' intention to continue utilizing ShopeePay. Future research may focus on many demographics, variables, and approaches to provide more comprehensive and accurate findings regarding continuance intention in using the ShopeePay e-wallet among Generation Z.
