Abstract

This Zenodo deposit contains a publicly available description of the Dataset: Title: "Bolen Human Sigmoid Colon Protein CosMx Dataset". Description: NanoString CosMxTM human sigmoid colon protein 64-plex dataset exported from Atomx for downstream analysis spatially resolves up to 64 proteins (CMx Hs IO Panel Protein Kit: CAT# 121500010). We picked two 0.5mm fields of view (FOV) per sample. This dataset is made available to researchers via the ASAP CRN Cloud: cloud.parkinsonsroadmap.org. Instructions for how to request access can be found in the User Manual. This research was funded by the Aligning Science Across Parkinson's Collaborative Research Network (ASAP CRN), through the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF). This Zenodo deposit was created by the ASAP CRN Cloud staff on behalf of the dataset authors. It provides a citable reference for a CRN Cloud Dataset

Moreover, environmental toxins, alterations in the gut microbiome, and gut inflammation contribute to the risk and progression of PD. We propose the targeted study of a novel circuit that connects microbes and immune regulators with enteroendocrine cells, sensory cells of the gut. In this circuit under investigation, enteroendocrine cells are predicted as the origin of toxinand microbe-stimulated pathological alpha-synuclein that spreads to the vagus and beyond. This project investigates the gut-barrier in Parkinson's disease in the body-first hypothesis of PD that our team has focused on in the context of the enteroendocrine cell-enteric nervous system circuit.
