As travelers increasingly rely on mobile applications for planning and organizing their trips, there is a growing need for platforms that provide not only logistical support but also meaningful insights into the cultural identity of destinations. Traditional travel apps often focus on bookings and navigation but lack features that help users understand the cultural richness of the places they visit. To address this gap, TravelLoom is developed as a comprehensive Android application that combines hotel selection, cultural learning, and itinerary planning in one system. Built using Android Studio and Kotlin, TravelLoom offers a streamlined user experience beginning with a International Journal of Emerging Trends in Engineering and Development Available online on http://www.rspublication.com/ijeted/ijeted_index.htm ISSN 2249 - 6149 ARTICLE INFO ABSTRACT ©2025 RS Publication Paper ID: IJETED69410065E1F68 Published: 2025-12-18 DOI: https://dx.doi.org/1 0.5281/zenodo.180023 00 Page No: 367-375 TravelLoom is an Android-based travel assistance application designed to simplify trip planning by combining hotel discovery, cultural exploration, and automated itinerary generation within a single platform. The app includes a secure login system followed by a destination dashboard where users can select cities such as Mumbai or Delhi. Each destination provides curated hotel options with ratings and a booking feature, ensuring easy accommodation selection. The core highlight of TravelLoom is its cultural experience module, which offers users detailed insights into the local essence of each destination—including famous foods, monuments, shopping streets, and cultural traditions. Additionally, the app automatically generates a basic itinerary for the selected location, helping users plan their visit more efficiently. A dedicated profile page allows users to view bookings, saved itineraries, and personalized information, all stored using an offline Room database for reliable access without internet dependency. Overall, TravelLoom enhances the travel experience by offering personalized planning, cultural knowledge, and offline-capable travel management in an intuitive and user-friendly format. For each destination, users can explore curated hotel options along with ratings and a simple booking process. The distinguishing feature of TravelLoom is its cultural experience module, which introduces users to the food, monuments, traditions, and shopping streets that define the identity of each city. This enriches the user’s understanding and encourages more informed travel decisions. Additionally, the app generates an automatic itinerary to help users plan their visits efficiently. A dedicated profile section stores user bookings and itineraries, allowing seamless access to information through an offline Room database. By integrating travel planning with cultural awareness, TravelLoom aims to enhance the overall travel experience and support users even in low-connectivity environments. Problem Definition Most existing travel applications provide only basic features such as hotel bookings or general tourist information, leaving users without a complete and culturally rich travel planning experience. Travelers often face difficulty accessing reliable information about local food, monuments, traditions, festivals, and shopping areas within a single platform, requiring them to rely on multiple sources. Additionally, many travel apps depend heavily on internet connectivity, making them inconvenient for users visiting locations with poor network access, where accessing bookings or itineraries becomes a challenge. There is also a lack of applications that offer simple, automatic itinerary generation and an integrated profile section to view personal bookings and saved plans. These limitations highlight the need for a unified, offline-capable mobile solution that simplifies trip planning while providing meaningful cultural insights. TravelLoom addresses this gap by combining hotel browsing, cultural exploration, profile management, and itinerary creation into one seamless system that works efficiently even without internet connectivity. Objective of the Paper To design and develop an Android-based travel planning application that offers a unified platform for destination exploration, hotel selection, and itinerary generation. To provide users with reliable and easily accessible cultural information, including food, monuments, traditions, festivals, and shopping streets for each destination. To implement an offline-capable system using the Room database, enabling users to access bookings, itineraries, and travel details without requiring internet connectivity. To enable users to book hotels and view their booking history in a dedicated profile section for better trip management. To develop an automatic itinerary generation feature that helps users plan their visit efficiently based on selected destinations. To enhance the overall travel experience by integrating cultural knowledge with practical travel planning tools in a single application. Key Challenges in Developing an Optimal AI Trip Planner Offline Data Management Ensuring hotel details, cultural information, and itineraries remain accessible without internet connectivity requires efficient local storage and caching strategies. Integrated Feature Coordination

[email protected] 369 Combining destinations, hotels, cultural content, and itinerary generation into one seamless flow demands careful synchronization of multiple app modules. Automatic Itinerary Generation Designing a reliable system that creates meaningful day-wise plans involves mapping attractions logically and maintaining consistency across different destinations. User Interface and Experience Design Delivering a clean, simple, and intuitive interface while incorporating several features poses challenges in layout structuring and navigation design. Data Consistency and Storage Optimization Managing bookings, cultural information, and user profiles in a local Room database requires structured data modeling and conflict-free offline operations. Scalability for New Destinations Expanding the app to include more cities, cultural data, and hotels without affecting performance requires a flexible and scalable architecture. Overview of existing work Comprehensive Online Travel Portals and Mobile Applications: Many existing platforms, such as MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, and Goibibo, provide users with a complete travel planning solution. They allow users to explore multiple destinations, compare hotels, check ratings and reviews, and make bookings online. These systems integrate a large database of destinations and hotels, making it easier for users to access all travel-related information in one place and reducing the need for multiple platforms. Robust User Account Management and Personalization: Current systems focus on creating a secure and personalized experience for users. They offer login and registration functionalities, profile management, and storage of personal information and past booking history. By analyzing user preferences and prior activity, these systems provide personalized recommendations, helping users make informed decisions and improving user engagement and satisfaction. Detailed Destination and Hotel Information Management: Existing travel applications provide comprehensive details about destinations and hotels. This includes highquality images, hotel descriptions, reviews, ratings, amenities, and approximate pricing. Users are given tools to filter and sort options based on their preferences such as location, budget, and facilities. This ensures that users can easily compare options and select the most suitable hotels for their travel plans. Interactive and User-Friendly Interface Design: A significant focus of current systems is on delivering a smooth, intuitive, and visually appealing interface. Users can navigate effortlessly between different destinations, view hotel details, and manage their profiles. The interactive design helps reduce user confusion, increases engagement, and enhances the overall usability of the application, ensuring a seamless experience for both first-time and regular users. Methodology Requirement Identification The requirement identification phase involved analyzing the essential needs of users who plan their trips using a digital platform. For Travel Loom, core requirements were determined by focusing on simplicity, usability, and essential travel functionalities. The system was designed to include secure user login, a destination selection interface, hotel viewing options, cultural information sections, itinerary generation, and a user profile for storing user-related details. Both functional and non-

This phase created a clear blueprint for how the application should behave and what features it must support. Data Collection The data collection phase concentrated on gathering accurate and relevant information that would be displayed within the Travel Loom application. Destination details, hotel information, user ratings, and cultural insights were obtained from verified travel websites, government tourism portals, and curated travel blogs. All collected data was filtered, cleaned, and organized to maintain consistency and reliability. This structured dataset played a key role in generating meaningful recommendations, showcasing cultural experiences, and enabling the system to produce realistic itineraries. Proper data preparation ensured that the user receives authentic and well-presented travel information. System Design The system design phase focused on developing a simple, modular, and intuitive structure for the entire Travel Loom application. The user interface was planned with an emphasis on easy navigation across the main components, including the login page, destination listings, hotels page, culture page, and itinerary page. A modular architecture was adopted, allowing each feature to function independently while still staying connected through a smooth workflow. The database design was carefully structured to store user credentials, hotel details, destination information, and cultural content in a well-organized manner. This design approach ensures good performance, scalability, and ease of future enhancement.
