LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom, and Canvas allow teachers to organize, deliver, and assess course content effectively. These systems provide tools for creating multimedia lessons, assigning and grading tasks, facilitating discussions, and monitoring learner progress in real time. LMS also supports blended learning models, where face-to-face instruction is combined with online resources, enhancing learner autonomy and motivation. Research indicates that the use of LMS can improve English language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, by offering personalized learning paths and instant feedback. However, challenges such as technological limitations, inadequate digital literacy, resistance to change, and varying levels of student engagement remain. The effective implementation of LMS requires professional development for educators, user-friendly platform design, and pedagogical strategies that integrate technology seamlessly. Overall, LMS adoption in ELT presents a promising avenue to modernize teaching practices, increase accessibility, and foster collaborative learning environments. Annotatsiya:O‘quv boshqaruv tizimlari (Learning Management Systems, LMS) ingliz tili ta’limida (ELT) an’anaviy pedagogik yondashuvlarni tubdan o‘zgartirib, interaktiv, moslashuvchan va o‘quvchi markazli ta’lim jarayonlarini yaratadi. Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom va Canvas kabi LMS platformalari o‘qituvchilarga kurs materiallarini tizimli tarzda yaratish, taqdim etish va baholash imkoniyatini beradi. Bu tizimlar multimedia darsliklar, topshiriqlarni tayinlash va baholash, onlayn munozaralar tashkil etish va o‘quvchilarning rivojlanishini real vaqt rejimida kuzatish kabi vositalarni taqdim etadi. LMS aralash (blended) ta’lim modellarini qo‘llab-quvvatlaydi, bu esa an’anaviy yuzma-yuz darslarni onlayn resurslar bilan birlashtirib, o‘quvchilarning mustaqilligini va motivatsiyasini oshiradi. Платформы LMS, такие как Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom и Canvas, позволяют преподавателям эффективно организовывать, предоставлять и оценивать учебный материал. Эти системы предоставляют инструменты для создания мультимедийных уроков, назначения и оценки заданий, организации обсуждений и мониторинга прогресса учащихся в режиме реального времени. LMS также поддерживает смешанные (blended) модели обучения, сочетая очные занятия с онлайн-ресурсами, что способствует автономии и мотивации студентов. Исследования показывают, что использование LMS способствует улучшению всех основных навыков английского языка — чтения, письма, аудирования и говорения, предоставляя персонализированные образовательные пути и мгновенную обратную связь. Однако остаются проблемы, такие как технические ограничения, недостаточный уровень цифровой грамотности, сопротивление изменениям и различная вовлеченность студентов. Эффективное внедрение LMS требует профессионального развития преподавателей, удобного интерфейса платформы и педагогических стратегий, которые органично интегрируют технологии. В целом, применение LMS в ELT открывает перспективы для модернизации преподавания, повышения доступности образования и создания среды для совместного обучения. INTRODUCTION In recent years, the integration of digital technologies into education has fundamentally reshaped teaching and learning practices. Among these technologies, Learning Management Systems (LMS) have emerged as a crucial tool for enhancing the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of instruction. LMS are software platforms designed to facilitate the planning, delivery, management, and assessment of educational content. They allow educators to organize courses, provide resources, assign tasks, track student progress, and foster communication between instructors and learners. The application of LMS has been particularly transformative in the context of English Language Teaching (ELT), where the development of multiple language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—requires varied instructional methods and continuous practice.Traditionally, English language instruction has relied heavily on face-to-face interaction, textbooks, and standardized assessments. While these approaches remain valuable, they often face limitations in terms of learner engagement, individualized instruction, and access to diverse resources. Platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom, and Canvas provide educators with the tools to create interactive lessons, incorporate multimedia content, facilitate collaborative learning, and deliver timely feedback. This integration not only enhances students’ linguistic competence but also promotes digital literacy, autonomous learning, and lifelong learning skills.Furthermore, the use of LMS in ELT aligns with the global trend toward blended and online learning, which combines traditional classroom experiences with digital resources. Blended learning environments have been shown to improve learner motivation, accommodate different learning styles, and enable continuous assessment and personalized feedback. Research indicates that students who engage with LMS-enhanced learning activities demonstrate higher levels of participation, retention, and language proficiency compared to conventional teaching methods. However, successful implementation of LMS requires careful planning, technological infrastructure, and ongoing professional development for educators. Challenges such as limited access to reliable internet, insufficient training in digital tools, and varying student readiness must be addressed to maximize the benefits of LMS.Given these considerations, exploring the role of LMS in English Language Teaching is both timely and significant. Understanding how these platforms influence teaching methodologies, learner engagement, and language acquisition can inform future educational practices and policy decisions. This study aims to examine the effectiveness, advantages, and challenges of using LMS in ELT, offering insights into best practices for integrating technology into language instruction while fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment. METHOD This study adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach to explore the role of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in English Language Teaching (ELT). The research is based entirely on the systematic review and analysis of theoretical and empirical literature, instructional frameworks, and documented experiences of LMS implementation, rather than on primary data collection. By focusing on scholarly sources, academic books, peer-reviewed journal articles, official LMS documentation, and case studies provided by educational organizations such as UNESCO, TESOL, and the British Council, the study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the pedagogical, technological, and practical aspects of LMS in language education. The qualitative-descriptive methodology enables the researcher to analyze, interpret, and synthesize existing knowledge regarding LMS functionality, advantages, challenges, and applications in ELT. Through thematic analysis of the literature, recurring patterns and insights are identified, highlighting how LMS facilitates learner engagement, promotes autonomy, supports blended learning, and enhances the development of essential English language skills including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The approach emphasizes the conceptual exploration of LMS adoption, focusing on the effectiveness of digital learning platforms in fostering interactive, learner-centered environments and improving instructional outcomes. By comparing and synthesizing findings from multiple sources, the study also identifies challenges associated with LMS integration, such as technological limitations, varying levels of digital literacy among educators and learners, and potential resistance to change. Although the methodology does not involve experimental testing or numerical measurement, it allows for a rich, in-depth understanding of the theoretical and practical implications of LMS in English language teaching. RESULTS The analysis of existing literature and scholarly sources reveals several consistent findings regarding the role and effectiveness of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in English Language Teaching (ELT). Firstly, LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, and Google Classroom have been consistently reported to enhance instructional organization and accessibility. They provide centralized access to course materials, lesson plans, multimedia content, assignments, and assessments, allowing both teachers and learners to navigate and manage the learning process efficiently. Studies indicate that LMS facilitates learner-centered instruction, offering opportunities for students to engage with content at their own pace, revisit complex materials, and participate in interactive learning activities.Secondly, LMS integration in ELT has been found to significantly support the development of all four language skills. Listening and speaking activities can be enhanced through embedded audio-visual content, online discussions, and video conferencing tools. Reading and writing skills are reinforced via online quizzes, assignments, and collaborative writing tasks within LMS forums. Furthermore, LMS platforms enable personalized learning paths, adaptive feedback, and progress tracking, which contribute to higher levels of learner autonomy and motivation. Thirdly, research consistently shows that LMS fosters collaborative and communicative learning. Discussion forums, group projects, and peer feedback mechanisms allow learners to interact beyond the classroom, promoting teamwork and language practice in authentic contexts. LMS also facilitates teacher-student communication through announcements, messaging tools, and feedback systems, ensuring timely support and guidance.Finally, the literature highlights several practical and technological challenges associated with LMS implementation. These include varying levels of digital literacy among both teachers and students, technical limitations such as unreliable internet connectivity, and the potential for decreased student engagement if platforms are not used interactively. Nevertheless, the majority of studies conclude that the pedagogical benefits of LMS, including enhanced access to resources, support for blended learning, and improved learner autonomy, outweigh these challenges when platforms are integrated thoughtfully and accompanied by effective teaching strategies. DISCUSSION The findings underscore the pivotal role of Learning Management Systems in transforming English language teaching practices. LMS offers a flexible and adaptive environment that aligns with contemporary pedagogical approaches emphasizing learner autonomy, interaction, and individualized instruction. By providing consistent access to course materials, multimedia resources, and interactive exercises, LMS platforms support the varied needs of language learners, accommodating different learning styles and paces. This is particularly important in ELT, where continuous exposure and practice across listening, speaking, reading, and writing are essential for language acquisition.The integration of LMS also enhances blended learning models, where face-to-face teaching is complemented by online activities. Moreover, the use of LMS encourages collaborative learning, which is central to communicative language teaching. CONCLUSION The integration of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in English Language Teaching has emerged as a transformative force, reshaping traditional instructional practices and enhancing the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of language education. This study, based on a comprehensive review of theoretical and empirical literature, demonstrates that LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, and Google Classroom provide significant pedagogical benefits, including improved organization of course materials, learner-centered instruction, interactive and multimedia learning opportunities, and enhanced support for the development of all four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing.Furthermore, LMS promotes learner autonomy and motivation by enabling personalized learning paths, adaptive feedback, and continuous progress monitoring. It also facilitates collaborative learning, allowing students to engage in discussion forums, group projects, and peer assessment, thereby creating authentic communicative experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting. The adoption of LMS aligns with blended learning approaches, which combine face-to-face teaching with online resources, resulting in higher engagement, retention, and language proficiency among learners. Despite these advantages, the study acknowledges several challenges associated with LMS implementation, including technological limitations, varying levels of digital literacy among teachers and students, and potential disengagement if platforms are underutilized or poorly integrated. Addressing these challenges requires professional development for educators, institutional support, and strategic planning to ensure that technology complements pedagogical objectives rather than replacing meaningful interaction.In conclusion, the evidence from the reviewed literature highlights that LMS is a powerful and effective tool for modernizing English Language Teaching. When implemented thoughtfully and accompanied by appropriate pedagogical strategies, LMS not only enhances the teaching and learning experience but also fosters autonomous, collaborative, and interactive learning environments. Future research and practice should focus on exploring innovative LMS features, including artificial intelligence integration, mobile-assisted learning, and adaptive technologies, to further optimize English language instruction in diverse educational contexts.
