The pa ag aph was aken as he selec ional uni as he only means o e ie e meaning objec i ely because "i is necessa y o wo k wi h eal empi ical knowledge o he language,( .... )because only a linguis ic co pus o da a would p oduce he desi ed objec i i y" (La a,1987:13).
